Forums - Nintendo - MetaKnight is better than pit.

I disagree. He shoots arrows and his final attack is forking awesome. He summons a goddess.

Metaknight's down smash is pretty easy to spam, as is his tornado. He is just plain ridiculous in the air. His drill can be pretty good against Pit too, but a good player can punish it, which in that case the tornado is better.

His stupidly high priority does make him a pain to fight as Pit. The best strategy I have ever come up with is try to keep distance while forcing a ground fight. This hurts extra because Pits best kill move is his back air and it is worthless against Metaknight. Most of my friends who play him suck though and just spam the tornado and drill so I don't know how well my normal strategy would work against a competent player.

Pit's arrows are pretty damn good. His forward smash is good too, albeit it has kind of short range.

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Pit's recovery is def. better
Remember - Pit can glide too

I think Metaknight's high priority puts him slightly over the edge, but all in all they are about equal. Pit is a great matchup against a wide range of characters (good projectile really helps), but Metaknight is a good Pit counter.

I still like my Kirby better!! He has awesome recovery and looks so cool with his "hats"!

Signature goes here!

Metaknight is absolutely a good Pit counter. The question is which one is better though, and one being the foil of the other does little to answer that question. I would put money on Pit being top tier, and Metaknight landing in the high part of mid tier. The lack of any kind of decent kill move really hurts him.

Yeah, Metaknight is kind of lacking in kill moves, I agree. He honestly has a lot more than I originally thought though, and I frequently use the down smash, the Up+B, the A attack out of the glide, and when edge-guarding his spike to kill.

The up smash can kill too, and on a lot of characters you can do a decent dash attack to up smash combo. His up + A in the air can do wonders too against floaty/flying characters like Pit and Peach, not to mention the forward air on just about everyone if you hit the sweet spot.
