Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Lost Odyssey sales rejoicing!

Well, you would expect it to sell well with little competition, but I am sure that many people were put off by reviews, though word of mouth should help spread it

Around the Network

To be fair, a historical reminder of Lost Odyssey's development cycle:

Started with pomp & circumstance in 2005.
TONS of info about LO in 2006, right around Tokyo Game Show in 2006, along with Blue Dragon info. Playable demo @ TGS.
Total media blackout after BD's release. Entire focus on BD, and the eventual US port.

Continued media blackout...

November 2007 - news starts to trickle in about Lost Odyssey, and website gets better, and we learn alot.
December: Lost Odyssey launches in Japan to 9/9/9/9 from Famitsu
February: Lost Odyssey launches in US and PAL territories to a 78.5% score

Cry-On is the same way. We've known about "it" since 2005, with very little news. We recieved a bit of word about it when LO launched, and now it's gone into hibernation again. I'd still think Mistwalker and Cavia are hard at work on the game, and should have it done in time for a December 2008 release in the US, and eventual 2009 US/PAL port.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

It should be selling better than Blue Dragon...it's a much better game.

Easily the best next-gen JRPG out so far. Good games seem to have good legs--people keep buying them on referrals.

Anyhow, I'm glad to see it doing well.
