Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft May Bring First-Party Franchises to PlayStation in the Future

Actually this is a misquote. They said that they have no plans to go on other platforms beyond Minecraft. Anyway if this does happen I just want the Rare Collection. Nothing else matters. Though I do expect Microsoft to slowly leave the console space unlike Sega who left quickly.

The rare collection needs to come to PC already!

Everything that comes out of his mouth is BS, dont believe anything this guy says.

What do you have against LivingMetal?

Only 3 scenario's I can see them releasing another game on Playstation.

1. Minecraft 2
2. If they leave the console market
3. If they buy PUPG and release it on all platforms

but apart from that, don't get your hopes up. And generally people say microsoft has no games so it would be really weird if people wanted forza, gears and halo on ps when they all shout they dont want it lol, anyway, fake news.

Can't read the article without subbing to WSJ, so it's hard to comment on this as we don't know exactly what Phil said and in what context.

Nah. Just do what everyone else is doing and jump to conclusions! It's more fun that way.

Make sense Xbox always losing so MS became a multiplatform editor.

Even if they did require xbox live subscriptions for their own games, they would do very well. You'd still need PS+ or whatever Nintendo are calling theirs to play online. Would your average COD, FIFA etc player really want to pay a second subscription just so they can play Halo as well? It would actually massively decrease their xbox live subscription figures.

How would it decease Xbox Live Subs?

MS arent just going to release there games for nothing on other consoles. They would want you to pay for them, They want you in the eco system just like there 1st party line up on PC. If you are a PS4 owner and want to play Xbox games than you would most likely have to pay another sub fee for Live to grant access to these games. There will be gamers out there that will pay up. This can also affect PSN numbers where gamers might choose to ignore PSN to gain Live.

Ps4 doesn't allow for 2 subs being needed for one experience.

You don't have to pay for PSN+ for MMOs and Freemium games, and other companies can't charge an extra sub for their games because PSN+ is already being charged.

So if MS put their games on PS, they wouldn't be able to request XBL sign from gamers or they would need to convince Sony to remove their need of PSN+ for those games... and considering Sony have no need for MS games on its platform I don't see that happening.

Points 1 and 3 are likely, i think. Someday, but the time shows it.

Thats exactly the point. MS will do it if they convince Sony to allow Xbox Live.

Do you really think MS will drop all there games on rival platforms for nothing? If so thats wishful thinking. Heck they dont even do that on PC unless its a 2nd party or Indy game that sell well. Majority require Windows and a Live account to play Forza, Gears etc.

Its smart and sneaky buisness model. Leak Live into competitors eco system and rake in the awards.

Allow Xbox Live? But that would not be good for Sony or?

I have no idea how that would even work! PS+ and Xbox Live Gold are the same thing! Free games and online access.
