well i guess we have to agree to disagree...

Just remember that telling others what to do and telling them what to like is a slippery slope... Someday, you might get told that the things you enjoy are wrong and that they should be edited/censored/changed and you probably won't like the idea of it much.

Actually, what you're inadvertantly promoting is the rule of popular opinion. An idea that has a tendency to royally fuck over everyone who might not agree with it.

By telling developers what they should or should not put into a game for fear that children who shouldn't be playing the game in the first place might misinterpret it. If you disagree with Rockstar on the matter, that's cool. No problem. Don't buy the game. There is plenty of stuff I refuse to buy because of the actions a company or individual made in the past.

We all know drunk driving is wrong. That's a given. But the moment you think a piece of artistic material should be changed to reflect the current popular opinion's viewpoint, you step onto a very slippery slope.

Holmes said it best:

"The right to swing my fist ends where the other man's nose begins."

One of the greatest lines ever written.

i am not against them having drinking and the ability to drive in a game.....what i don't understand is to mix the two and call it art form of the game?

cant you make a statement that is a wholesome and supporting message and get praise and be art?

is art's purpose not to provoke thought and emotion in its subject?

why cant that thought and emotion be good and pure?

see you agree that drunk driving is wrong...so why support its purpose in a game....drunk driving is not art

dealing with the trials and tribulations of an upcoming thug as he quests to find his pplace in the urban society..that can be art

Telling someone what or what is not art is one of the first steps to censorship.

Some of it is. Some of it isn't. It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round.

sometimes there needs to be censorship...its not always a bad thing
