Forums - Nintendo - Sonic Unleashed on ONM UK

obviously the screens are not for the Wii version... but i hope they release footage if the wii version in action.

the magic-box has got a couple of good in game screens of Unleashed

''Hadouken!''

I'm going to likely buy the 360 version because to be honest I'm betting Sega built the game from ground up on Wii as well as a 360/PS3 version. My best bet is that the 360/PS3 version will share most of the gameplay aspects with higher end visuals!

It's unfortunate but I am not happy to hear it will in any way resemble Secret Rings because I hated that game. If you are pushed forward like Secret Rings as indicated by that article (Moving right and left) I will not be buying this game. I love the speed Sonic has in Sonic games but anything short of a true Sonic Adventure 3 and I'm not buying!

So if I get it, I'm getting the graphically superior 360 version, but if its on rails or you are forced forward then I will not be purchasing it regardless of version!

I highly doubt the Nintendo mag would use 360 pics. I'd wager those were off the Wii.

Amazon recently put up pre-order links for this game.

So, those screens where really from the Wii version huh? WHO would have thought that...

They never said the screens were from the Wii version.  If it's the only screens they have, they'll use them, Wii version or not.

@OP: Shouldn't this be in the general gaming forum?

Don't know if those screens are the wii version, but the info was a nice read

check these two good pics

''Hadouken!''

More from the article via Neogaf

- Screenshots of the Wii version basically identical to what we have seen on the net of the game so far

- Wii version described as "Shiny next-gen visuals"

- The werewolf Sonic sections are "slightly slower, yet a more agile beast" than the ordinary Sonic sections

- A one page interview with the games Lead Designer, Yoshihisa Hashimoto. Describes the game as no relation to Secret Rings or original 360/PS3 Sonic title- "more in common to Sonic Adventure titles".

- Yoshihisa says that as well as the Wii Remote "players will also be using the Nunchuck"

some one looked up Hashimoto's credentials and he's worked on
Sonic Adventure 2 - lead chao programmer
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle - lead chao programmer
Sonic Advance - programmer
Sonic Pinball Party - programmer
Sonic Adventure DX - A-Life system director

So outside of Chao he's only done a 2d sonic and a pinball game....well at least he'd got experience with 2d sonic!

Also it looks like we may be eating some crow, if the graphics are nearly identical to the PS360 version. That would feed the theory that the wii is the main development platform and it will be upscaled/downscaled from there.

If that's what the Wii version looks like (which the NeoGAF article says they look "similar" or pretty much the same thing) I'll be amazed and laugh at people who say "lolz wii r grfx t3h suxxorz!!11!"

Oh my god. Weren't you Wii fans the one's claiming the graphics didn't look very good? Now, since it's on the Wii, the graphics are the best ever, right? It doesn't matter how much laughing you Wii fans do, the graphics are still lame compared to the PS3's Ratchet & clank. Laugh all you want, but just remember you will always play the inferior version on your little Wii.
