I don't recall seeing Dunkey ever say the review right off the bat. Shows how much he loved it.

What hit me the hardest was when he said 'this game still barely scratched the surface'. So many people put this game on a GOAT level, and yet we talked about how it was still capable of going through the roof. This will easily be the 64 for today's generation, and will be a game we can always look back to

I actually love dunkey and his rather unorthodox humor, so seeing a vid where he seems to be pretty serious for most of the vid is kinda surreal. xP

I agree with the surface scratching part though, I think Super Mario Odyssey is gonna be a game with a ridiculous ceiling and untapped potential when it comes to speedrunning.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

He should kill that Knack meme.

I love the video, you can just feel his excitement through the whole thing and yes, if while playing Odyssey you don't feel anything, you are dead inside.

I'm sorry Dunkey, but as much as I love you, this video is WAY better:

He was forced to give a high score, no fun!

Dunkey is unironically a really smart and reasonable guy when he's serious, so this review means actually a lot. It's just weird that it's not a funny video, but it's ok,it's cute to see he legitimately excited about a game.

Automatic dislike for how 'mario' is pronounced

I think he manages to get people to laugh due to how his jokes are implemented.

Anyone can throw one joke after the other, but people seem to appreciate jokes more if you moderate it and sprinkle it in effectively. It works for me, and it isn't surprising to see it create wonders for Dunkey

I agree with the "barely scratched" bit. One moment that kind of illuminate me on how useful is Cappy for platforming, not just capturing, was doing a Koopa Race in the Steam Gardens. I was playing and I really couldn't understand why I always reached the end in the 2nd place. So I followed the best of the Koopas to see what the hell what he was doing to always beat me. And I saw that you can long jump, then throw Cappy, then dive into Cappy to do the longest jump I saw in a Mario game XD.

Afterwards I went to Youtube to see what people were doing, and I was astonished with the awesome movements I saw. I mean, Mario's moveset in this game is just brilliant.

And, well, watching speedrunnings of this game could be the best thing ever. I can't wait to that!

Rare for Dunkey to give 5/5 or even 4/5s. Still funny to me that he gets a thread, unlike other youtubers. I still remember the first video when I discovered him, it was a League of Legends video.

He also gets a lot of criticism when he is mean to the other Nintendo games for some reason.

I've never seen him get criticized for that. Most people agreed with the fact that Splatoon 2 is good, but it didn't necessarily change things up to make it feel like a complete successor.

Anyway, his videos are great, and are solid ways to begin threads
