Also, this controller has the same amount of buttons as the Wii-mote. So there goes that argument.

At least in the mockup, the button placement doesn't suck as much ass as it does on the WiiMote.

As much as I love the Wii and the WiiMote, the industrial design of the thing is pretty terrible. It was made to do too much in too many configurations. Nearly dislocating your f***ing thumb just to hit the "2" button is ridiculous. Unfortunately, given the nature of modern games, many require use of every button on the WiiMote, which really brings out the flaws in the controller.

Footnote: Before I get blasted for saying anything negative about the Holy Grail that is Nintendo, I hate pretty much every controller ever made except for the 360. That one only mildly annoys me. If you want me to get really negative, just bring up the Dreamcast controller and its carpal tunnel-inducing wrist angles. Stupid piece of shit.

I hated the Dreamcast controller, but some people out there loved it... Wonder if they can still type like normal.

But yeah, the 360 controller is so full of win, so I don't see how they could mess up this... If it's true.

Midgets. Midgets and people with abnormally small hands. Those are the people who liked the Dreamcast controller.

And you know what they say about people with small hands...

For those pointing out it's rumour and a mock-up (based on insider information) please note the first paragraph where I point that out.

Here's your first five paragraphs, please point out where you acknowledge it's a mock-up sir. I can't find it:

"The rumour mill is running hot and heavy on the multiple anonymous confirmations that the 360 will have it's own answer to the Wii-mote.  At this point nothing, not even it's existance is official yet so lots could change, but based on currently available information it seems apperant that Microsoft hasn't really understood the allure of Nintendo's Wii and this new controller won't help much, if any.

*rolls eye* Okay, so I didn't specifically say 'mock-up' but is that seriously not clear enough that the information the write-up is based on is all unofficial rumours that may not be accurate and even if it is could change anyway?  Besides the mock-up was made based on information from an insider source, for whatever that's worth, which isn't much.

Here I'll go add mock-up into the paragraph to save any more hassle.  Happy?

I thought the 360mote was a photoshop joke. If it is something they are actually attempting to release, M$ is even stupider than I thought.

Never underestimate the power of human stupidity and greed.

Microsoft has released some serious screwups in the past (ie. MS Bob), so picturing them releasing something like that mock-up doesn't really seem that unrealistic.

The SONY Dual Shock controller for the PS1 was released to good success back in the 90's.
That was well after launch also.

I don't care if there are a lot of exclusives for it, as long as a decent number of software titles uses it.
I think a good measure of that would be how well MS supports their webcam in games. I haven't followed that, so anyone care to comment how well it's supported for actual gameplay. I've enjoyed the strange PS3 Eye things like the Aquarium. Has MS gone down that path too?

Well, anyone who makes a Wii-mote ripoff before next gen wreaks of desperation, that's my opinion.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

nice read.

They own small gloves?

we all know the best control style is touch screen and stylus

So you're suggesting an 8 feet pole to come with every 360? Or maybe two, since MS is launching Surface any day now.
