Yeah I’m surprised someone didn’t make a thread about this already. It’s blowing up a bit. Ive seen some people give fair points on the matter, and I don’t mind that as long as someone isn’t doing a rant/slam piece.

I hate violence for the sake of violence— in anything. I loved TLoU. It was brutal and violent, but it made sense in the context of the world, and I didn’t feel it took it too far. I thought the Tlou2 trailer was incredible, but it was very brutal, and I’m really worried they’re going to make tlou2 TOO dark and without some form of redemption; but, I am still surprised by the level of backlash. As others have said, there are so many things—whether in music, movies, tv, or games—that are FAR worse than what was shown in that trailer. People do seem very fickle and hypocritical. Oh, and the violence against women thing was laughable. Some people try too hard.

Now also women get their arms broken like men always have in movies, books, art and games.
And now all of a sudden it’s too violent.

I can't stand TLOU and don't get the whining over the trailer. People never say anything over CoD trailers when a dude pumps 40 rounds in another guy face. How about when the Dead Island had that CGI trailer of the kid dying. No one whined then. Anyone who gets offended at violence in video games, just should not play games at all. It's not "violence porn" FFS what a stupid term. No one is masturbating to it and cumming on their screen because a hammer hit a woman's arm. Just some of us are not feeble-minded and run away at some blood.

That kind of violence wasn't senseless. it was to set up a scene and characters and it's a part of world-building in the world they live in, much like Walking Dead, some people just suck esp when there is no society which has proven to be true in reality when major disasters strike. Many people were raped in the Superdome during Katrina. People loot. Some people helped others and some hurt others. TLOU trailer was showing one side to set up world you as a player have to survive in. I will say once more I didn't like TLOU, in fact, don't like Naughty Dog much at all so I am not standing up for a game I like but what the trailer was selling and the hypocrisy of people being selective what they are offended by.
