got my microsd 128 gb and download xenoblade right now..I was going to get the special edition with the expansion pass but I figured I'd wait until I see what the actual expansion pass has

Yeah I guess you could be right. I swear I heard somewhere that one of the creators or directors said he wanted to do something unlike the past two xenoblade games and do something simpler and more down to earth. Can't find it though! So I'll take your word for it.

I recall reading something similar too from Takahashi but it doesn't change the fact that he might very well have said that since he was told from the marketing team to say so...

It was takahashi,the director of all the xeno games.He said that he wants to do a boy-meets-girl type of plot this time,because he wants to try something different.But trust me,i know that guy,and this game will have at least two burning towns.And tons of mechas.

Oh I never doubted there'd be at least one town burning

Anyone know how much space this takes up if you buy the digital version? Is there anything else to download (DLC?) that will take up more?

Yeah but we pretty much already know the tone of the game. It's "different" and less catastrophic. It's a boys love tale with a happy go lucky feeling.

All advertisement is meant to be judged and show the tone of a game, so it would be in pretty poor choice if the game did a 180 in the middle and started to match the music video more (maybe releasing it after the game came out would make more sense?)

Edit: It is cool though how it's pretty much a Dead Can Dance song  

Haha, it has a Dead Can Dance vibe, yep. But, well, what the rest of the people said, I'm sure there will be moments on this game when this song will be fitting. Can't wait to play it!

I believe it is like 13gb. Day 1 you can download a free dlc in terms of Japanese voice acting. My guess is that will be another 1-2 gb.

I believe it's in the game, I only mentioned the Collector's/Special Edition for those interested in getting the Sound selection CD that comes with it.

Omg mechas!! Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised since the Xeno games always have some form of mechas.

Really cool trailer, though the protagonist having a "pure heart" is the most overused trope ever, hopefully his personality is more interesting than that -_-

If it’s anything like Xenogears or Xenoblade, there’s a demonic godlike creature resting in the soul or consciousness of Rex.

Now if the story starts out with Rex doing some sort of task involving a long haired samurai-type who becomes the wiseman samurai of the party, then has an Imperial army land and destroy the village, then he gets his hands on his super-weapon to fight them off, we can reasonably suggest the story will be another one based on Xenogears. Especially if Rex has some kind of amnesia, and sees the (earlier) love of his life slaughtered before his eyes.
