Forums - Sony - CryENGINE 2 PS3 like high settings on PC

As long as he is optimistic, I am excited to see where this ends up.

I don't understand why people want to play Crysis the game was average at best. Is this also not the same group of people that made Far Cry, that game sucked big time.

You'll have more credibility with that statement if you didn't have a big sig on KZ2.  All the hype for that game is because of the graphics (will be no comparison to Crysis) and KZ1 didn't deliver on its hype at all.

He don´t gave us real info, no FPS, no Resolution, he only gave us this:

"We expect the final outcome will result in games that look like they're running at high settings, or nearly high settings, on a PC."

So, at this point the game can´t run on high settings, and they will try to make them "look" like they are in high settings...

To much PR if you ask me...

I'm not saying the PS3 will be able to do high settings...I seriously doubt it. But the bolded statement is kind of stupid...if it looks like it's on high settings, isn't that kind of the point? The goal is to make the graphics look amazing, or "high settings." If they can make it "look" like the PC version, it doesn't matter if it's really "high settings" or not...they achieved the goal, no?

One thing is running the game on high settings, another is cheatiing to try to hide some things and make it look as good (high settings) as the pc... this is not meaning the game can run on high, but they found a nice way to make it looks almost like high settings...

Example, there is a lot of trees and palms, maybe they are going to use more sprites intead of real mesh... less tress, less rocks, less detailed mesh, less detailed textures, less effects, remove things that might not be very noticiable and them claim, "Hey, we made it, looks like High settings" ...

Go and take a look at Valve PDF "How To Go From PC to Cross Platform Development Without Killing Your Studio"is a nice read, and will help you to understand this...

There you go again trolling the PS3. Are high settings on a PC below 720p? No.

There you go againg talking nonsense... I can run high @ 800*600 if I want to, High settings is about the shader effects, deail of the mesh, physics and texture, not the output resolution...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

Is it that hard? I had Crysis on high on my new PC. It was pretty, but I think people underestimate what the PS3/360 can do.

What resolution, and what's your pc specs. The 360,and ps3 would be able to do it fine if their graphics cards weren't dated.
