I'm not saying the PS3 will be able to do high settings...I seriously doubt it. But the bolded statement is kind of stupid...if it looks like it's on high settings, isn't that kind of the point? The goal is to make the graphics look amazing, or "high settings." If they can make it "look" like the PC version, it doesn't matter if it's really "high settings" or not...they achieved the goal, no? |
One thing is running the game on high settings, another is cheatiing to try to hide some things and make it look as good (high settings) as the pc... this is not meaning the game can run on high, but they found a nice way to make it looks almost like high settings...
Example, there is a lot of trees and palms, maybe they are going to use more sprites intead of real mesh... less tress, less rocks, less detailed mesh, less detailed textures, less effects, remove things that might not be very noticiable and them claim, "Hey, we made it, looks like High settings" ...
Go and take a look at Valve PDF "How To Go From PC to Cross Platform Development Without Killing Your Studio"is a nice read, and will help you to understand this...

There you go againg talking nonsense... I can run high @ 800*600 if I want to, High settings is about the shader effects, deail of the mesh, physics and texture, not the output resolution...
