The latest trailer for Kirby said Spring though, so I doubt January would happen. Realistically it will probably be late March-April, and Yoshi will likely be May-June. I don't see them having much for Q1, unless they have something super far along in development that they're just not gonna announce until right before release, which would be odd. Or possibly Yoshi is almost ready and they've just held off showing much until after 2017, and maybe that will be ready in February or something. The good news is though that the Switch will have a pretty incredible library already from these first 9 months, so a 3 month drought wouldn't be the end of the world. Just so long as it stays only 3 months and not much longer. Yoshi and Kirby for Q2, Fire Emblem and Pikmin for Q3, Animal Crossing and Prime 4 for Q4 would be a solid 2018 lineup. Throw in Mario Maker Deluxe for either Q3 or Q4 and maybe something like Bayonetta 3. Still don't believe Pokemon will hit until 2019, in spite of what's been said. |
How that would be odd for Nintendo? They basically announced Mario Rabbids 1.5 month before launch, Pokken Tournament DX 2.5 months before launch and Doom 2 monts before launch. Its obvous that Nintendo with Switch is keep cards close to chest and that they are focusing on games that will be out in near future, not on games that will be coming in a year. I definitely expecting Yoshi or Kirby in Q1, and at least one or two more games for Q1 that they will announce in January.
And Reggie basicly said that:
"Right now our focus is on this holiday, so we really haven’t talked about details of games coming next year, other than that we showed off a Yoshi experience; we showed off a Kirby experience. We’ll be talking about 2018 after the holiday season is over".
