Didnt Xbox do really well previous holidays as well?

How come that the brand just works during these times despite being outpaced all year long prior to that?

That's how all consoles work when they aren't doing so hot.  The holiday deals always bring a big boost.  The Wii did the same thing after its 3rd year, when sales started to decline.  It would do poor/okay during most of the year, but when the holidays hit, look out.

Xbox should be above Playstation comfortably this month. If a new console launch and the PS4 having stock issues in so many places doesn't lead to a big victory, MS should be worried. 300k above at least

300k is way too much. Even with the pre orders PS4 did really well on BF. I don't see the gap being more than 150k.

I don't think so. I know it's all guesswork still, but that analyst predicted 600k Xbox One X sales by the end of this year, which if in the right ballpark, would mean 400k sales this month at least imo. So that's a good headstart. Then I think the PS4 would have done a lot of catching up in the week of 1TB, but by the time the Xbox Slim at $189 went live the PS4 was already out of stock online in a lot of places. There was a lot of stock in store from what we are hearing, but the Xbox One was also very strong across BF itself. And it has continued to sell well when PS4 stock has been low.

Should be a comfortable win

I guess the key comes down to what kind of supply Sony shipped; if they sold a weeks' worth of consoles in 2 days, then they sold an ungodly number of PS4s. They may have run out by BF, but that may not matter. I don't think anyone expected them to be in the conversation, though: we were all blindsided by the price drop.

i'm sorry to say that, but i'm happy battlefront is not doing so well.

You don't have to be sorry

Hopefully for Sony they didn't shortchange themselves on the 1tb out either being frugal or just being caught with their pants down. I'd laugh if they thought those lousy BFII bundles were going to do heavy lifting for them this month.

I just came back from my local Best Buy and they were setting up a pallet of $199 BF PS4 consoles. Apparently it's still available at B&M.

Did Sony come through with a restock?

Apparently so. I asked the guy setting them up how many they had, he didn't give me a specific number, but he said they had another pallet in the back. If I had to guess there were 40-50 consoles on the pallet.

With Cyber Monday tomorrow, I just don't how they can keep up.
