Forums - Sales Discussion - Amazon U.S. November bestsellers and general Amazon-based discussion

As people have been asking just how fast the $199 PS4 climbed the charts, to compare to the $189 X1S, I combed through the thread and compiled that information. Note that the PS4 was sold out for most of "Day 4:"

Monthly
Day 1: #58 to #13
Day 2: #13 to #9
Day 3: #9 to #5
Day 4 (sold out): #5 to #4

Yearly
Day 1: Unranked to #98
Day 2: #98 to #71
Day 3: #71 to #54
Day 4 (sold out): No Data

How is he full of it? Thats like exactly how its playing out.....

lol nobody knows how its playing out, there is no way they will all be close, switch won't even do over 900k. he goes from ps4 is nuking to lower your switch expectations, to they all will be close, guy is full of shit.

Yet you know more than him from simply typing behind your keyboard? You have been told several times your personal preferences and hope DON'T equal fact yet you continue. I doubt anyone pays heed to what you say tbh.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

PS4 moved up MUCH faster, and you should be able to verify that with earlier posts in the thread.

How fast did it climb then out of curiosity? I know XB1 S shot up over 20 spots on monthly yesterday and another 7 spots today, and is now just 4 spots behind PS4 Slim. It also shot up to #62 on the yearly charts today, while Slim is at #50. That tells me that in 2 days (Thursday Morning-Saturday morning) XB1 S sold at least 2/3rd's as much as PS4 Slim sold across more than 3 days (Monday-early Thursday) earlier in the week. That's a healthy pace imo considering it's only $10 cheaper and has a smaller hard drive.

It went up 44, 4, 4, and then 1 spots (after bing sold out), per day, settling at #4.

Prediction or insider knowledge?

Even if the PS4 entered the yearly after one day of sales, you have to account that every item would be selling more in the 3 days before the One S price cut. One S has more ground to gain in a shorter amount of time.

And either way, all 3 consoles are doing great.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

Looks like the lists updated. XB1S is at #62. Definitely higher than I thought it would be. Of course, sales of everything will be slower at this point, so it'll probably rise much slower, now. The PS4S is still at #50, while the X slide down another spot to #56.

The S enters the Top 10 for monthlies, while the PS4 is at #6.

By the way, don't forget about cyber Monday. Online sales are better on that day rather than Black Friday.

Hopefully PS4 Slim is back in stock and they do a $299 special for the Pro.

With all the new entries into the yearlies and the PS4/X1X preorders, it's been a hell of a few days.

So the S sold more in the last two days compared to the PS4 in its first two days at $199. Was to be expected since yesterday was black Friday. I'm interested in seeing where it ends up on tomorrow's update.

How is Cyber monday going to work. All retailers were promising $199 PS4 through Monday. Amazon is the biggest online retailer there is no way they can not have Ps4s to sell come Monday. Something has to give.
