with mario kart, zelda, and  mario odyssey  already out, i think fans of 2d mario, and smash will have already bought a switch, yes those games will sell like crazy, but they won't move much hardware.

This concept seems to be going over your head. There literally are not enough systems sold to accommodate all the Smash/Mario fans.

I haven't bought a Switch yet despite owning 3DS smash and Wii Smash.

 

Smash and Mario not shifting consoles... zorg is right. I'm one of the fans not accommodated for.

That's all this thread is, really.

No hard figures, just some vague rankings system. It also only applies to what most agree on to be 10% absolute max of total sales.

So.. No harm in discussion. It's what forums are for.

Cool story, but not actually accurate...at all.

Amazon ranks sales leaders, by hour, month, and year.  Those are actual sales rankings, not anecdotal evidence.

Furthermore, this is the AMAZON thread, not the "guess what I saw in some other, not Amazon store" AKA the other less than 65% of the total sales thread. Award yourself a third facepalm for that nonsensical reply.

If you're informing yourself, on this very specific thread, with anecdotal evidence, you're doing it wrong.

There's a reason the thread managers constantly post and update the actual sales rankings that Amazon reports.

I feel like this is one of those "globally in the US discussions," because the only relevant metric is the Amazon rankings.

Consoles almost never peak in their first year.

 

By your logic, no one bought a PS4 for Uncharted 4 because Nathan Drake collection existed. Comprising of a full 3 titles of said franchise. Does that sound like rubbish to you?
