I have played all of the major Mario Games with 64 being my favorite closely followed by the Galaxy series.  With that said does anyone else feel a bit dissapointed in Super mario Odyssey's dificulty level.  I am the type to actually takes my time and search for secrets on my first playthough (currently at 186 moons and counting) and after just 2 days I am already at the final battle with Bowser ( I would have beated it last night but the lackluster Switch battery life got me again).  How do you guys feel?

The 75/100 review everyone got in an uproar about said the game was too easy for long-time Super Mario players.

I have almost as many moons as you and I am only finishing up the 4th Kingdom. Sorry to break it to you, but it seems that you blew through the story quicker than you would like to think.

As for difficulty, I find it no less difficult than Mario 64 was, maybe a little more. This is of course under the pretense that you are actually trying to get all of the moons as you would stars in 64. As for the story, all 3D Mario games can be completed around 10 to 15 hours if you focus mainly on that. Like I said, your moon count goes heavily against your claim that you gathered everything as you played through the main story.

Not at all. There's something like 835 individual moons in the game, not easy to complete at all. You could go through 64/Sunshine/Galaxy in 5-10 hours if you want, it's the way 3D Mario always has been. Once the story finishes the real challenge starts.
The boss rematches postgame, as well as the dark side of the moon and the 'true final level' you unlock at 503 moons, are absolutely no easy task. I'm at around 300 moons now and I'm having trouble with a bunch of moons. The main story's easy, sure, but the game's not easy.

With that count it seems you've blown through rather quickly, I had around ~256 when I finished the main story.

It is easy for Mario standards. However, with that said, it doesn't diminish the experience. Just beat the game a few hours ago and I still have a smile on my face.

I know I didnt gather everything but most people i know beat the game with less than half the moons that I got so far.  Kudos to you grinding for moons on your first play through.  Unfortunatly for me once my son says hes bored of a level its time for me to move on, but I still feel as though I am taking my time and I will eventually 100% as I do with all the Marios.

Mario has always been accessible for casuals since the Gameboy era.

The game can be run through, but it still has enough charm to make it memorable for all. The hidden moons allow more experienced gamers to play through the game with challenges, with the required moons not placing a wall on anyone.

Nintendo has always been about allowing everyone to play their games, and Odyssey gives both casuals and hardcore gamers the chance to enjoy it.

The game may have benefited from a hard mode, but I'm satisfied with the difficulty level

Yes. It's a lot easier tham expected. While Galaxy and 3D World weren't difficult, Odyssey it's even easier.

My guess is that they went in the exploration route, like BotW.

Side-scrolling mario is harder than 3d mario anyways(for me at least), so this doesn't bother me at all, and besides, it's the exploration or finding all the moons and the easter eggs is where the real challenge is.
