Possibilty but Switch Can Surpass PS4 Launch Align WW even if its only for 1 quarter!

Was checking out the numbers but switch needs to ship out 5.87mil units by end of year. Its at 7.63mil with a forcast of 14mil for the fy (16mil+ by end of March)

Holidays switch will sell minimum 4.5mil with a chance of doing up to 7mil maybe more?

Anyway kinda crazy but even if briefly switch will surpass ps4 launch align for the quarter! Quite the feat!

Why is it crazy? I think even before the 6 month FY figures were given many believed it would happen over the holidays.

With it being Switch Holidays vs PS4 slow months due to the different launch times it's to be expected that for a while Switch will make up the difference and surpass PS4 on launch aligned for a while.

What are the fastest selling consoles at least first year? Wii/ps4 right? Switch even if it didnt release during holiday will be the fastest selling hw of all time and thats with supply not up to demand 100%ww.

After the report, I think reaching 14,4 million is not that far fetched.

I don't know why Switch not launching during the holiday is brought up by every nintendo fan discussing the switch's sales. One, it's a console launch, the demand is going to be there with or without baby jesus demanding you buy presents. Two, the Switch was completely sold out, so it couldn't have sold any better then it did anyway.

But I guess it is "crazy" to an extent, it just seemed like you didn't think anyone was expecting this already.

I think we had discussions before (and maybe threads of the topic) but many (i could be wrong) never expected switch to surpass ps4 launch aligned ever (WW)

IMO, Switch will outsell PS4 lifetime. It will probably dip back under PS4 launch aligned for a while next year, but after 2018, I predict Switch will take the lead and never look back.

Of course, there are a lot of "ifs" in that prediction, but so far Nintendo is hitting them all.

We need numbers to be able to make a guess. DS, Wii, PS4's numbers would be the ones I'd be interested in. Maybe GBA, that machine was on fire for a while, the DS killed it before reaching the 100m.

Well, I think 3DS did it too. Would be great for SW nonetheless
