Forums - Sony - RUMOR: Kingdom Hearts Ps4 collection

They should've just done this from the very start...

I don't understand German but it seems that this collection is just the 1.5 + 2.5 and 2.8 collections bundled together.

It’s not that difficult to look up the chronological order of the games.

Assuming this rumor is true, this would be the fifth collection they make out of a franchise with eight games, and that's stretching it with the mobile entry.

Forget about Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed, Kingdom Hearts is the epitome of milking.

To be fair:

Most of the games have re-released versions with substantially more content than they did at launch (KH2FM having nearly 50% more content), and both re:Chain of Memories & re:coded were full-on remakes.

The original 1.5 Collection was actually a huge feat, as they had to completely rebuild KHFM from the ground up due to having lost the original source disc. Not only that, but it was the first time Final Mix released outside of Japan (a big deal), and they made HD cutscenes to tell the story of Days.

The original 2.5 Collection doubled down by releasing two Final Mix titles, and remade re:coded into HD cutscenes like Days had (marking the second time the overall format of the game was altered).

The 2.8 Collection added a bunch of new(ish) content, including HD cutscenes for KHX (Back Cover) and an entirely new story sequence in 0.2 Birth By Sleep (which doubled as a tech demo for KH3).

1.5+2.5 combined the PS3 Collections for a PS4 release, marking the first time the full story was available on a single console (and adding that sweet HD fight scene at the end of Days).

What this is going to do is a bit redundant, but it's likely to save on cost. If they can consolidate all of the titles onto one disc they'll save a ton in manufacturing, so it's a no brainer to phase out 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 in favor of a Full Collection.

If only they spent that much effort in making a coherent storyline with fewer games, instead of massively re-releasing games and incomplete collections over and over and over again.

It's a lot easier to port games than to make new ones. It's easy to get brain dead Dev teams together to port something. Not so much putting together a competent team for a totally new game.

Didnt this already happen or am I imagining that it did?

Kingdom Hearts has some of the stupidest subtitles to grace a video game: Back Cover? lol

As expected when a KH thread is made....ignorance, shit posting, and ignorance. One who knows nothing can understand nothing.

Another one?

Look, I am probably one of the greatest KH fan out there, but even I think this is overkill.IF this is for other platforms, then thats actually great news, otherwise start working on those versions for other consoles!

You say you're probably one of the greatest KH fans out there yet your post says otherwise.

Excluding KH1, the first time the whole series was on one console was during the PS2 days with KH1, KH2, and Re: CoM.

So it's a collection of remastered collections made from a collection of remasters?

I'm down

I forgot that it was easier to achieve that feat when there were only three titles.

It only lasted around 6 months (Coded, Days, BBS was announced), and it never happened if you didn't live in Japan (but it did if you followed the happenings in Japan), so no surprise certain people would forget or not know about it. lol
