Resident Evil 6 comes to mind. It wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. Same with resident evil 0.

Games that score in the yellow are generally not the worst games imaginable. Some just appeal to a very specific niche. Don't let a yellow scoring game deter you completely. |
It's not like I go out of my way not to play games that are scored poorly. In fact, I think the issue is that people aren't picky enough. There are games i'd score a 60 that most people would consider a 90
I know it's not in the spirit of the thread but, Cruisin' USA huh? I remember taking my N64 from my apartment to my parents place and renting that game. It was so bad, that the picture of the virgin Mary they had hanging in the room started crying blood. Huge letdown for me, as I really liked the arcade game. Trying to find my own candidate, but no luck so far. This is my tag I guess.

You and me both. It was fun playing some matches with you before the grind just got too real for me xD

It falls under the 65 score (landing at 57), so I can post it here
Akiba's Trip, likely seen by the general audience as trashy looking weeb crap, I actually see it as one of my, if not my only guilty pleasure game. The graphics are pretty basic and low, the gameplay is simple, the story is dumb, and the game mechanics are stupid and creepy, but dang do I love this game. Something about it's sheer silliness I find enjoyable. I guess a big reason why I find it fun is because it lets me do such silly things not really seen in any game really. Talking about it now, I wouldn't mind booting it up again and mess around some, beating the clothes off everyday people.

Yeah, we play it together several times, was actually pretty fun. But the grind was horrible by the end. Made me have to quit, among other reason, such as the glitches. |
The introduction of more new powerful weapons that made the current best obsolete was terrible as well. That was the last straw for me.

I played the Vita version ( 64 meta ) and quite liked it.
Here's my pick though: Little Deviants ( 57 meta ), also for the Vita. The game had a bad rep, and my expectations were low. Ended up having fun with most of the mini-games, and thought it was judged too harshly.

Might not count based on your description, but I loved Game and Wario and the Wii U, which sits at a 61 on Metacritic. It wasn't as mini-game focused as the past titles, but boy I had a lot of fun with it. My family would always ask to play it whenever I brought my system home just for the Pictionary type game that used the Gamepad as a drawing tablet. The best part was how the game showed everyone's drawings in an art museum at the, even the ones that looked awful.
Bleach: Third Phantom was a game I really enjoyed, and probably my favorite game based on an anime IP, but only sits at a 59 on Metacritic. Severely underrated, it's a great game for fans of the IP, and the gameplay is solid. I put over 150 hours on two different playthroughs (with both main characters). Original story chapters like Kenpachi facing off against Grimmjow alone should have brought this over an 80...*shakes head*

I feel like I've said this before but, it was Chulip on the PS2, scored a 57 on Metacritic, loved the game so much I had to print a list of locations and tips on how I could kiss(premise of the game I think?) a certain NPC. Its not the kissing part that got me hooked in the game but the quirky cast of characters and their reactions which I find quite amusing.
Honestly I don't think I have ever enjoyed a game with a Meta below 65.
