Digital and people are waiting for the PC version.

Yeah ... yeah ... on Battle.net , lol. It's gonna flop hard if they want to keep the exclusivity there. + I would be willing to bet that even the digital sales of Destiny 2 are worse than Destiny 1, which would mean that it's still quite down. |
Flop on Battle.net?
That is hugely successful. That's where Overwatch is played. You know, one of the biggest competitive games currently?

Battle.net is really popular thpugh. Overwatch, Hero's of the Storm are successful and they are Battle.net exclusives.

what's wrong with Battle.net?
I've used it for years with WoW, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Diablo 3, and Starcraft 2. It's a free service that I've had very little issues with.
This is also an Activision + Bungie game...Activision merged with Blizzard so it makes sense they release it on their platform. It's not like this game can be played offline anyways.
In regards to the thread, I got burnt out on Destiny 1 thinking it would be different than it ended up being and stopped after I played through the main story. I was hoping more WoW MMO-like with large vistas to explore, etc. than a regular FPS with gear. I still bought Destiny 2 though (which came with the PS4 Pro). I'm going to get the PC version as well because some friends are picking up that version.
All the expansions for D1 ruined the experience by the time D2 came out. And people don't want to get screwed having to fork over more dough a second time around.
Also, there are no more bounties and you can't pick and choose the armor and weapons you want. Your stuck with whatever an engram decodes into. I hate submachine guns, pulse rifles, and sidearms, Give me scout, auto, and fusion rifles.
In D1 I remember visiting the Vang. Quartermaster and all 3 factions to decide which armor and guns to get for my guys. My fav gun was the Hung Jury SR4. A scout rifle that caused the target to explode with precision rounds.
I bought them from Dead Orbit for all 3 of my characters.
Good, fuck them.
I'm sure it still made them truckloads though.
These comparisons are pretty lame now as retail doesn't matter as much as it did over 3 years ago. AAA titles like this can have 40%+ digital attach rate and it's on two very popular digital platforms with PC still to go. It might sell less than Destiny 1 overall but it will still sell a boatload regardless. Zhuge already commented in the other thread stating with digital Destiny takes number 1 this month over NBA.

Show me one AAA title that had this attach rate.
I usually don't like to see any developer product to fail, but i'm satisfied with this. After destiny 1 they lost my interest entirely. And i'm also not a fan of any game that contains microtransactions in it,so i think they deserve this.
