I HIGHLY doubt this but who knows how much the RROD is really costing MS? Perhaps they really wouldnt mind just making xbox live for PS, Nin, and PC? Rather charge 50 dollars for a limited user base why not charge 50 for all the console user base total? Agian I do not believe the article but what is your opinion in this matter?

shouldnt this be in gaming or microsoft? also i doubt ms will drop out yet, i expect at least one more xbox to grace us with its presence.

I figured since its a rumor, not a very credible one at that, I figured itd be best discussed in the off topic section. Besides its not like its out of place like in the nintendo board or something.

Microsoft is poised to do better next generation both in units sold and profit if it can incorporate lessons learned from both Nintendo's and Sony's ways of leading the industry.  

Still have my doubts that Microsoft can ever be as successful as either Sony or Nintendo in this industry.  Its almost impossible to beat both in one generation since their techniques and business models are so different. 

To be honest I have no idea what issue its in. It doesnt seem like good april fools material anyway but thats my opinion. Like I said its gamepro so take it with a grain of salt. Their the company that said "high up sources claim bioshock coming to ps3" and we all know how thats going...

In a hypothetical situation, if this WERE to happen, this would have a enormous effect with the Playstation... All those hardcore games (Gears/Halo/many more) would go straight to the PS4, as I doubt Nintendo Wii2 would try to compete with a Full Featured playstation console...Sorry for my lack of better grammar in explaining that, hopefully you understand

Simply saying the next generation consoles (Nintendo/Sony) would be very interesting, both good and bad... I think there would be a monopoly for the Casual Gamers, and then a monopoly for the Hardcore

Anyway, just my opinion, im sure someone here will disagree with some good points and change my mind :D

I'm guessing either an April Fools' joke or a troll on the part of the poster since it's strange that nobody else would have talked about such a big rumor (of course maybe nobody else wants to admit to reading Gamepro). Also a rumor that big would be extremely difficult to keep contained and it's doubtful it would be limited to one magazine's rumor section.
