So you watch Jim and still don't know what the correct term for such games is?
It's "Fee to pay".

I'm very happy I don't follow review scores or metacrtic or opencritic or whatevercritic for numerous reasons. Just whatever trusted reviewer I have at the moment. Otherwise this would be a migraine for me.
If it's any consolation, at least your favorite review site said they want to take a stand.

I don't have much to say. I completely agree.
Both publishers and commercial reviewers are not to be trusted.
People need to also understand that there are gamers out there who love this system hence why its becoming popular and money is being spent in these Crates etc.
We can argu its stupid and a bad decision however our argument are put to shame when other gamers dont mind them and some like them.
Dont buy the game if you think it ruins the experience. For me i choose to ignore them entirely. I dont let petty things like this stop me from enjoying great games.
Get a fuckin' job, you hippie - and a haircut.

Well that's a step in the right direction. Considering many review games with the pricetag in mind, I don't know how they factor in microtransactions & in-game gambling. Too bad this is the state of gaming - too many normies with more money than time or skill (or sense) - so now all the AAA act like F2P by shaking a tip jar in your face every time you enter a menu.
| Cerebralbore101 said: If I can't find the game in a brick and mortar store, do you really think I'm going to pay through the nose for a digital version, instead of finding a used copy? This means that even if I wanted to support the developers by buying a game new, they are pricing it so high that I'd be a fool to not pick the game up used. It's either that or wait for a sale. But I want to play the game NOW, not in a year's time, when it finally goes on sale for a reasonable price. |
You know what, you really do criticize pirates a lot, but this is the exact same logic that they use. Hopefully you can become a bit more sympathetic to those who are too poor to afford to buy their games, but still want to enjoy the great medium that is video games.

That still let's plebians have equal say to people with taste though. Little Timmy with four games under his belt has just as much say so as Spike with hundreds of games under his belt. |
This is that lovely moment where I think to myself "Geeee, I really don't give a shit about what this person has to say".
No hard feelings, but I find people that think they have "taste" in terms of entertainment, and that it means something, to be amusing.

The best way to solve it is to choose some reviewers you trust for a game, or similar taste as yours... or watch the gameplay on YT.

Well, the developer already got paid for the game when it was originally bought. Used car, and book sales don't get criticized, but used game sales deserve it?
