Forums - Gaming - Monopoly for Switch is $40

I just saw that the Monopoly game for the Switch is realeasing on October 31 and it has a pricetag of $40 (at least for the physical copy). Are they out of their minds? I though about getting it to play with my wife andfamily but damn $40 seems to be too pricey.

I've always been a fan of Monopoly, but I've not played it much electronically. They often change the rules (game ends after X number of turns) for the cheap/free versions, and price the good ones far too high. If this version is good, and sold for $20 or so, I'd likely buy it. But, I see essentially zero chance of me paying $40 for it.

Money better spent elsewhere. Hopefully the next Mario Party on the Switch is a good one.

Yeah, $20 is a reasonable price, that's what I thought it was going to cost when they first announce it.

The physical board game typically costs $20-$35, possibly higher for some specialty versions. To me, $40 isn't a terrible price.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I see the basic board game selling for $11 at Walmart reguarly.  In the holiday season, it can be purchased for less than $10.

On Google shopping, prices vary from €30 to €40.

Monopoly causes too many problems for me. However this version can't have a table flipped over. So this might be worth getting.
