Trying to rap my head around the OP:

1) a praise xbox one for getting something like 2k sales for Forza 7 launch in japan.
2) kerotan/Barney telling you to make this thread, cuz its thread worthy.
3) your opinion that soon playstation will be irellavant in japan, because of switch.
4) your pot shot + poll basically bullying someone who basically said TL;DR

not sure what to make of it lol.
I read the intirety of the OP and yeah...

The one thing I agree with OP on, is that Switch is outpaceing the PS4 sales wise in japan.

Even if its like 1.4m Switch to 5.5m PS4's or something, at some point you know the switch will be ahead there.

Doesnt mean the PS4 will be irevellance there though.

Should be room for both.

Interesting and very bad numbers, but this is not a wonder. Every year a new Forza is boring. And "Gran Turismo Sport" is coming in 1-2 weeks, very strong competition. I guess about 400,000-500.000 in Japan alone for the new Gran Turismo-Game (sales figures, lifetime) or what do you think, guys ?

The biggest problem is in my opinion: Microsoft makes very little for Japanese players / fans (also in the west). The sales are much worse than with the Xbox 360. Well no matter..next year comes a new Forza again.

Nr 50 today, nr 1 tomorrow. The great comeback of the XBox One has started. Now it's in the charts nothing can stop it anymore from claiming dominance. With a few copies of Forza are out in the wild, word of mouth will work its wonder and soon Switches and PS4s will soon sit by the side of the road waiting for the garbage truck.

I think an absence of mentioning that its really the mobile market that has stolen most of the growth potential of dedicated consoles is kinda odd. Nintendo is aiming for a sweet spot between the two (tablet/handheld + dock for home play) and seeing the success in Japan.

As for Sony ceding a chunk of the Japanese market to Nintendo, I think that's absolutely true. Sony has treated Japan very much second class to North America and Europe even when launching there several months AFTER the West. Their focus has shifted off of Japan and I think they're reaping the consequences of that (fantastic success in the West and ok results in Japan). While I don't think they will lose their core audience to Nintendo platforms, they're going to lose ground to Switch barring some major changes in philsophy and priority.

In a month with "Super Mario Odessey" and "GTSports"..... that seems likely :)
