Nintendo is not good with third party support.

Atari will be very good with third party support. It will get every single game. It will be amazing.


Ataribox is the best box.

Well Ataribox is basically a PC running linux, but I'm sure you'll be able to (or someone will figure out how to) install windows on it... so Ataribox is more likely? xD

Would probably run like absolute crap though.

Nice idea but flawed concept. If you want to create a console with open software you need to go full hog and make the hardware upgradable too. That way it just takes one good part of PCs and the worst part of consoles. This cannot work. Consoles today only live because of exclusives and if you can't deliver that, then you have to be just better at everything else.

Looks cool, but jesus, $250 for a glorified emulator containing 35 year old archaic games? And people thought NES/Classic was a rip off!

People are just mad that it is not like the popular consoles.
It is like people getting mad that an announced game is not a military shooter / CoD clone.

Not everything needs to be this big budget, mass market, homogenised lump of plastic.

It looks to be a neat little device, that does not cost all that much, that will likely find a niche.
I will buy one.

That will assure said devs who decide to release on that box and no other platform a swift demise. Most devs these days target multiple platforms, trying to sell to only the Atari system will just show those devs making bad choices.
