You need some context to it.
How many Switch owners are there in the UK? 1% compared to the other platforms that have millions of consoles vs how many consoles?
From what I seen Switch isn't really that hot in UK. so 1% could be 20% of the install base.
Also how many copies of FIFA did they send out? in Aus they told me to preorder to ensure I get one in first batch.
Nuvendil said: Wait. You are telling me that when it is public knowledge that a version is feature stripped it will get blown out in sales by other versions? Also doesn't help when you try to say only features tied to the engine switch are missing but then others are missing and your answer to that criticism is a flippant "we don't want to overwhelm Switch customers" with the complexities of your freaking soccer game. |
I don't think the average consumer is aware that there are stripped features to be honest. I just think anyone who has access to both a Ps4 and a switch will most likely get the game on PS4
On a side note....MK8 deluxe accounted for 100% of switch sales....Kappa

Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)
UK might not be the best market for Switch, but it's one of the best for FIFA

I don't know if I would say I'm all that surprised. This is the UK market we're talking about, which seems to me to be one of Nintendo's weakest markets. I'm curious on sales for other regions. I don't know if the initial sales for this one game equals doom for Nintendo regarding 3rd party support either.
Dance my pretties!

I really think so. Even here in the US, Amazon didn't have a pre-order on Fifa 18 for switch. EA really seem has a low expectation. And Nintendo tried helping on the marketing front as well. Really loving my Fifa 18 on switch. Will try to get Fifa 18 for X1 during Thanksgiving.
That was clear. The PS4 version has more game(singleplayer)-modes/extras. And on the PS4 you can find an online player every second - now and also in 2 years.
In Germany and France are sold out in many shops the PS4 Bundles with Fifa 18 completely.
Spain is VERY interesting, how big the differences are. Maybe 83 % PS4 and 17 percent of the rest?

Spain will probably have the biggest PS4 % imo

2.8%? Certainly helps to put things into perspective. The question then becomes if the porting process was ultimately profitable or at least cheap. I understand there's a 360 version which is about as powerful as a Switch so I have to wonder if the Switch version is just a port of the 360 version... Would make economic sense for EA to handle the Switch version this way. |
Switch is way more powerful than 360. Has like 8x the amount of ram, and a more modern architect.

No, I think just Fifa as far as this example is concerned assuming the effort in porting and then selling Switch Fifa didn't yield profit for EA. My guess is the process wasn't too expensive if EA is still bothering to port to the 360.
Additionally, some third parties sold best on Switch. I think Sonic Mania sold best on Switch judging by Amazon rankings.

I'll take your word for it: even if it were about as powerful, the Switch is tiny compared to the 360 so impressive either way, at least to me.
