I will say it was nice having full range of the 'dungeons' for once.

For me it was the opposite, got about 80% of the way through it and found almost all shrines, then stopped playing for a few months during a business trip, tried playing again recently and just felt no real urge to keep playing, ran around for a few minutes then went back to playing sonic mania, i don't think I'll ever finish it because of the lack of desire to keep playing.

Like, I was a good game, don't get me wrong, I just don't see it as being such a huge thing as others seem to do, was good while it lasted but once you've seen the whole map it just gets a bit boring and dare I say it, tedious.
Then again, I felt the same somewhat for Gtav, the only thing that drew me back at times was messing about with friends doing silly stuff, and since zelda lacks a multiplayer element it doesn't have that same effect.

I feel the same way, except I kind of blame myself for it. It happened with 2 other Zeldas, but I kind of think this time it might be the games fault. (I only stopped playing Majora's Mask because I kept taking hiatus's from it, and my Switch arrived with BOTW, and Wind Waker turned me off at the end with the triangle quest)
GTA V just sucks tbh

Far out, glad someone said it, I was starting to feel like the only man on earth who didn't like GTA5.

Breath of the Wild is definitely a lot better, comparing them is almost a crime imo. I mean BOTW is like a 87/100, the fact that I got bored after 80 full hours speaks for itself.
GTA V is just boring all around! So I'm glad we can agree on that : ) I felt crazy for a while too dude!
I think 4 sucked too. Haven't played enough of 3, Vice City, or San Andreas to judge them. I have them on Steam but ... just don't feel like playing them.
I liked Red Dead a lot though, but even the campaign on that one was badly paced.
It sucks knowing that you are missing out on something. I always feel like "Why do these games get so much sales?" which is perhaps a bit petty

Can't really say I disagree, I've only ever played it purely for running around causing mayhem and getting chased from police, the fact that I've had it from launch and every time I play it I start from first guys moms house (cannot even tell you his name) should illustrate just how much I care for the game or its plot.
Also I wasn't comparing them beyond it being a game that seems to be persistently popular but that I got bored with, the only difference was I actually played through most of zeldas story.
Played through mind you, wasn't interested in what was going on at all, i just wanted to explore and doing plot was about the only way to get the weapons, skills and stamina to do that, so a means to an end more than a vested interest.

Same! It's a nice benchmark on PC , and sometimes it's fun to punch people. But that's about it tbh.

Curl, GTA V isn't on a Nintendo console...
But I do agree to some extent.
I enjoyed GTAIV much more than GTAV, which I couldn't even force myself to finish.
