Forums - Gaming - Are you buying your holiday 2017 games on sale or at launch?

So we all know on psn that games go on sale incredibly quick these days.  Within 2 weeks of launch FFXV joined the holiday sale last year.  Cod and BF1 were the same.  Basically all big games released in the fall were on sale during the holiday.

So I've decided to take advantage of this.  I'm getting GT Sport day 1 digital because they went with a $60 price and not a greedy $70. I also love the series and I want it day 1.

But I'm getting Battlefront 2 which releases in November.  However I've decided to wait 1 month to get it on sale in December. Most likely for $40. So I wait a few weeks and save some money.

Anyone else doing the same.  I presume it's similar on xbl?

I'm waiting until Black Friday. Though I did already pre-order GT Sport and Cuphead.

Launch. I need Odyssey for a Plane Ride

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Launch, already have Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 preordered.

Best Buy GCU is pretty sick, I'm saving like $22 on Odyssey.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Launch cause amazon e3 pre-order sale was a god send

I'll be getting Odyssey at launch, gotta figure out exactly what else I want and if I may just wait and get one as a present, or wait and see what boxing day sales will bring for me.

After last year and the speed almost every game crashed in price it's hard to justify buying a bunch of games day one again this year. Some games within 2-3 weeks of launch were dropping 25%-50% in value and games 4-6 weeks old dropping even more.

The Last Guardian launched 7th December at £45+ and before December was over it was <£25, Dishonoured 2 and Titanfall 2 dropping <£20 after a few weeks also.

Exactly.  I can afford to buy them all day 1 but why throw away money when you can just wait a few weeks.  We wait years for them to release.  What's another few weeks lol

I'm getting Super Mario Odyssey at launch, a) because it's too good to wait, b) it's already only £40 for pre-order on Amazon and c) it's not going to go on sale for any lower anyways lol. I'm expecting a few indie/lower tier titles to get some discounts that will probably convince me to pick them up though.

I pre ordered the digital version of the Ultimate Edition of Forza Motorsports 7 the game is already downloaded on my hard drive and I can start playing it on Friday anything else I'm interested in for the rest of the year and early next year I will buy when its on sale since I easily will spend over 300 hours on FM7.
