Yes, I think a more "nintendo" approach rather than a "sakurai" approach will lead to a more balanced character roster (i.e. not dark pit) and less troubles with deadlines due to Sakurai trying to personally oversee all aspects of the game. Hes tired of working on the series anyways.

How can you sure Sakurai leaving won't end in disaster for the next Smash Bros.?

As long as it has the same battle system and expands the roster, I dont see how it could be a disaster
