One thing I absolutely hate is the game ratings of both Super Smash Bros. Brawl (I'll give you a reason why) and Shadow the Hedgehog.
I work at a daycare and when I used to go there as a child a few years ago (when I was 10), we got to play Super Smash Bros. on the N64. After I left, my sister was in the after-school classes. Melee rolled around and the daycare wouldn't allow them to play Melee due to the Teen rating. WTF, why would the game be rated Teen if it's just Comic Mischief and Cartoon Violence? Since I work at the daycare now, I've been trying to urge my bosses about letting the kids play SSB. They will not allow it due to it being rated Teen, but I gave them reasons. Now that Brawl has been released, I brought my Wii to demonstrate (they're going to get a Wii for the daycare, but no games except for Wii Sports, WTF >_>) and showed them Brawl. They said it wasn't too bad, but they still couldn't let the children in the school classes play it due to it being rated Teen. Well, that's not all. Several of the after school kids, including some pre-Kindergarten kids, own and brought the Brawl game case to show off (because they like the game). I pointed it out to my bosses and they will make the decision on it.
What I REALLY don't understand is that if they did not allow Melee to be played, why the hell did they allow Shadow the Hedgehog to be played? That game is a bit more violent (gun usage and suggestive themes) and even has swearing in it (I know, big whoop), but the teachers ALLOW the kids to play and bring that game JUST BECAUSE it's rated E +10 up.
