Really? Odyssey has twice the framerate and larger, more detailed environments. What makes you think that Mario+Rabbids looks better?

I can't tell how good the playability is by watching the videos but the graphics are very beautiful. The Switch is certainly powerful enough for this type of game. Shame they couldn't do native resolution in portable mode but you wonder with further optimisations if this may be possible with a patch.

Well framerate and large enivronements aren't what make a game "look" good. I'll always prefer 60fps over graphics but this is about looks.
This game has a higher image quality and just looks more polished graphically. Odyssey looks rough around the edges in a few places, which is to be expected considering the higher fps and open-world.
I'd say 3D World is almost a better looking game then Odyssey, and Rabbids is basically just a souped up version of 3d-world, they have a similair aesthetic.

It does run at 60 though.

We also need to consider that we still dont know how Odyssey will look at launch, for instance until now Odyssey was runing at 720p but that could easily be changed at launch (like we already saw with ARMS and Splatoon 2).
I tried to play it. Never made it to the gameplay. Both times I fell asleep on the opening cinematic. Maybe I need to play it in the morning instead of the middle of the night!

Definitely not from a technical perspective. The geometry, texture quality, image quality, particle effects, world density, etc are all much more detailed and higher quality in Odyssey than 3D World.

Mario + Rabbids is a turn-based game which uses a third party engine. I don't see how it looks anything like 3D World or Oddysey.

Honestly... It is taste at this point lol ('Looks better' part)
For me Mario + Rabbids looks really amazing to me and I really like it better than anything I saw from Odissey so far (the colorfullness, sharpness, the design, etc..). Expect maybe the rainbow like world (with weird shapes etc).
Now on the technical stand point, Odyssey will probably be better yes :)
So we're back to sub HD again. Can't fault Nintendo for trying to relive the Wii days.

HD is overrated.
