Forums - Nintendo - L.A. Noire will cost more on Switch than Ps4 and Xbox One

Well it's not like Nintendo could of used disks for a portable system. I think they'd be smarter to charge a price closer to the other versions even if it means smaller profits or at least have the price same for the digital version if thats the case.

Yeah, thats why I stopped answering here.People are more worried to maintain their conspiracy that Nintendo is a greedy and shady company instead of looking at things as they are.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

While it's quite evident the publishers are being greedy here, an additional 10$ is an overkill here. 5$ could be justified.

Nevertheless, the game seems quite stellar, and I'm so into mystery and detective stuff to let this go. On the go.

The same can be said about the people blaming 3rd party here. Nintendo is the holy one and 3rd party is the greedy one. There are people here that are so adamant that 3rd party is being greedy and it's all 3rd parties fault. You can find both so please stop with the double standard.  FYI Majority of the posts I see here is 3rd party is evil and it's their fault.

It's not really fair to put all the blame to 3rd party. IMO both are at fault. We don't know what is happening on the background and to draw a conclusion that 3rd party is being geedy is something the guys here cannot prove. Some people already here provided source and the tweet from an insider already telling is that 32GB is ridicolouly expensive.

The funny thing is some posters here including you used that tweet of Zhuge to prove a point where it's the other way around but it's all about 3rd party being greedy right?

PS: I'll take Zhuge's knowledge more seriously than supposedly 'experts' on here trying to put all the blame to 3rd party without looking at the other side of the coin.

They should have just ported Red Dead Redemption to the Switch.  Probably a better game than L.A. Noire.

Im not being a hipocrite, nor most of the users defending Nintendo are.We all never said that cartriges arrnt more expensive. They are.The point I am trying to make, that Nuvendil explains well, is that the 10 dollars jump is not justified. The price jump to produce a 32 GB cart is more or less between 3 to 5 dollars(And thats what Zhuge is getting at, also pointed out at Nuvendil post.An increase, but not an 10 dollars increase). If the game had a 5 dollars bump due to that, then I would be fine eith it.But thats not the case.THATS what me and many users are complaining about.

For additional clarity, $6 is also possible.  But not 10.  And only for a 32 GB.  Any price hike on any other size cart is less justifiable.  And on an 8 GB card or lower is inexcusable.

No, Zhuge is quite clear why they are pricing it that way. read it on the link provided and tell me where Zhuge said it? He is not disputing the $10 increase he is actually explaining why.

Is this really a case of 3rd party being greedy? or maybe ther are other factors involve that Nindentdo and 3rd party cannot control Or 3rd are not just willing to eat the cost or small profit margin is not really acceptable for them. These Publisher is still running a business here.  Maybe this is the price Nintendo has to pay for choosing the medium they are using for Swtich.

EDIT*

It is justified in that there are costs to recoup.  And in LA Noire's case, since they priced it so low, a larger percent of profits lost.  But it is not some one to one.  It went up by $10 because that's the increment by which it always goes up, for thus it was spoken and thus it shall forever remain.  A $5 price increase would be a much more justifiable increase.  They went with 10 out of habit and cause it grabs a bit extra.

And none of this address Puyo Puyo Tetris or Rime which are $10 more as well with no justificstion being on 2GB and 8 GB carts respectively.  And that's assuming Rime on Switch is the same file size as PS4.  It's small enough that it could almost squeeze into a 4 GB cart.  And those fly in the face of Sonic Forces which is in a similar situation but no price hike.  And NBA 2K is at least on a 16 GB, maybe a 32 GB (we'll see), and no price hike.  And Skyrim has to be at least on a 16 GB cart, same launch price as the Special Edition.  If it was a serious hit, hikes should at least be consistent.

You and me doesn't know the other variables involved. Liscensing fee, shipping, etc. We can argue all day unless we have solid fact. You and me cannot draw a solid conclusion but I will take the word of an insider that is telling us that it is justified to just a random poster here (sorry). Unless you can prove us other wise with a reliable source about your estimation.

First and foremost we are talking about the 32GB carts. One question how much Rime cost digitally? because I heard La noire cost $10 cheaper digitally.
As Zhuge point out it's not accepatable for a price hike for those type of games that are using 2GB or 8GB carts. I also find that inexcusable. That's why I said both 3rd party and Nintendo are both at fault which my main point to begin with.  We cannot blame it all on 3rd parties.
