In time many great PS2 franchises may arrive in HD on the PS3, but not all. New Ip's will replace old ones etc.

Owning a 360 and a PS3 is VERY redundant unless you are the type of gamer who doesn't want to miss anything when it comes to exclusives on any platform.

Of course lamenting the fact you spent 400 quid on a console that you currently have no use for = zero sympathy for zero foresight. It's not as though the release schedule for every console on the market isn't widely available on the net for anyone to check out.

If you KNOW every single release that's coming out, that makes it all too easy to tailor your choice or choices.

Not interested in MGS4 or GT4P or any of the current PS3 exclusives? Then why buy a PS3 now? By the time GT4 and FFXIII are released in about a year, the price of a PS3 will likely be down to 299.

There's always overlap when it comes to multi-platform gaming. The gaming PC I just built would have made my 360 obsolete if it weren't for the handful of 360 games still not available for the PC or PS3. But, since I like having the option of playing EVERYTHING that looks fun, it means having more hardware. And there's nothing new under the sun there, even if it means I have a Wii that gets turned on every few weeks or more, and a 360 that is the redheaded stepchild to the PS3.

 I am one of those people who expect unrealistic expectations. So far the PS3's hopes rest on FFXIII, GT 5, SOCOM 4, Resident Evil 5 and  God of War 3 all out in 2009. MGS 4, Resistance 2 and GTA 4 are the main games for PS3 in 2008 that must sell. I do not count GT 5 P because that will sell between 2 to 3 million copies and is only a demo I consider no need unless you are a huge fan of GT series.
 It would be best to wait a while longer to pick up a PS3 console with 10  excellent exclusive games at a lower PS3 console price in 2 years time. In some regions of the world the PS3 is really expensive.

Even if you are not a fan of Ratchet and Clank that new one on ps3 I awesome. I never played a R&C game till that one which forced me to go and buy the old ones. Warhawk... need I say more. Echochrome is going to be a bad ass PSN game. There is a little game not many people know (sarcasm) about called Devil May Cry 4 on the system. PS3 has great games you just have to look. Hell you can get a old copy of Marvel Ultimate Alliance which is a game I personally enjoyed.

No, 360's don't cost nearly as much as a good gaming PC, and they don't need to be upgraded all the time.  I got out of PC gaming because it's a huge cash drain to keep a PC upgraded to play the latest titles effectively.

Yea, if you had got those for the PS3, the 360 would be collecting dust. No biggie, it's good to have all systems, so when the exclusives do come out, your ready.

buy Folklore, download some PSN titles, watch some Blu-ray movies as it does play those. There are a ton of entertaining PSN titles.

i know what you mean, OP. I feel the same way about my 360. I really only have myself to blame as I knew before I bought the system that I don't like shooters but it is still a disappointment every time I see it under my TV unplugged while I wait for fable 2 to come out.

i'll probably never get a ps3 unless i actually decide to go blu ray. The only games that cater to me in the forseeable future is R&C and LBP. I really really want to play both of those but the thought have spending $260 per title is a major turn off.

 I definetly know what you mean. If I told you how much it costs in my country you'd either think I'm joking or have a heart attack.
