Worth a purchase? I know nothing except 100 players, fight to the death on an island.

Buy it. It's really fun and its only $30.

Going in not knowing anything is how I purchased and first played it. It's honestly funner that way ... don't look up stuff!

Is the map procedurally generated?

^ I just bought it. No its not. You start in a plane with 100 peopl3 and jump out within the plane area of travel. Then you gather equipment and weapons while reaching a generally broad area in the map (which gets less broad with time).

My first game I took 7th and killed 2. It is enjoyable, but I havent found any vehicles yet and I've heard it is easy to get banned.

I'm guessing if I were younger I'd probably be a veteran of that game already as I used to be obsessed with competitive shooters lol... To be honest though, I know nothing about it except that it's suddenly incredibly popular.

No. There have been quite a few requests for a procedurally generated map, and they're looking into how they can have an option for that without breaking the game, but as it stands, the only thing they've guaranteed us is more maps in the future.
