Alt Right is nothing new. It's just a "rebranding" of white supremasists who were here in the 20s, the 30s, the 40s, 50s, the 60s, the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, the 2000s, the 2010s.

They have been emboldened by Trump's election and think they now have more room to come out of the shadows like coackroaches.

That's the only thing different today from 10-15 years ago. And they will always be met by resistance now ... because never again in this country's history will they be allowed to parade around in public and to terrorize/bully/expouse their hatred without being met in kind with force.

Alt-Right isn't a thing.  It was an invented word during the primaries to try and paint Trump /His supporters as racists (It didn't work, it's only served to dilute the word and give it no meaning). "Racist" in liberal lingo literally can mean, someone you disagree with.   A vast majority of "hate" crimes that were painted to be labeled against Trump and his supporters have all been proven to be false flags, or outright fabrications. (Just like the sexual charges they claimed to have).

These protests and the violent turn they are taking is likely the logical outcome/counter response to the well documented accounts of ANTIFA showing up to events with the intent to cause violence for the past two years.

Hillary Clinton was a crap candidate, that ran on crap platforms, that represented the status quo in one of the most stagnant, and poor performing periods of this countries history.  The Democrats lost at every level politically (Not just the Presidency) because their ideology when met with reality failed.  Nobody cares about David Duke, or the KKK, or "White Supremacy".

Blaming everything negative that happens on Trump (Which is what I've read from you since the election), is pretty transparent and weak.

Agreed, this bugs me to no end. It's an extremely simple-minded way of looking at things. If anything, MSM, academia, and entertainment probably have FAR more influence, particularly on younger and impressionable people. I don't even like Trump, but by doing this it ironically just sort of hurts their own cause because it allows Trump to act as a sort of scapegoat while it allows extremist assholes who decide to plow a car into a crowd without shouldering the responsibility because "they were EMBOLDENED because of Trump." As if this guy is some kind of wizard that can control people's minds. Additionally, it sort of indirectly undermines and demonizes the 63 million Americans that voted for him, and god knows, further board sweeping demonization of massive groups of people is the LAST thing we need right now in the US.

It's like saying Obama was in some way to blame for the 6 cops shot in Dallas. It's ludicrous.

Is there solid proof that the guy was a white supremacist?

Yes, the definitive proof is that he drove the car into a crowd full with white people ....

A rather despicable act and the right wing better denounce this extremism as much as the left wing needs to denounce ANTIFA's actions.

LOL they are not going denounce this just like the KKK didn't denounce any of the almost daily lynchings that took place less then a hundred years ago.  As a matter of fact they actively promoted those.

All this hate for nothing we are all humans :(

The police should have never allowed both protests to occur. It was pretty clear from the onset the marchers weren't going to be cuddly, level headed people who wanted a democratic discussion.

Ctrl-F "police," with the context of policemen who were actually there as a filter.

One post, and with the wrong perspective (even if logically sound), at that. (The police were given a stand down order - hence their inability to manage the situation)

I'll watch this unfold. I'm eagerly awaiting a DOJ investigation into this whole hoo-hah. There better be someone charged with Criminal Negligence, or something along those lines.

That's extremely negligent. They should have dispersed the crowd after the first fistfights. Did they expect things to cool down from there or what?

The left is gonna milk this to no end and take advantage of the fact that for once in a very long while it was a white nationalist guy who commited a deadly terrorist act.

So many people are already indirectly accusing everyone at the rally for being responsible for the death by this car attack, which is nasty and dishonest and extremely hypocritical.

Post about people being driver over by a car.

"the left is gonna milk this".

You know, there's a time and place for everything, but your post is extremely ill-placed. And just for the record, this wasn't a case of a largely peaceful protest with minor incidents. It's a mid-sized protest with a lot of incidents. There might have been some more moderate people amongst the protestors, but it's pretty clear a lot of them are basically a bunch of neo-nazis who have no qualms with throwing punches.

Ah yes, the Nazis weren't racists, because they also killed white people.

Seeing a lot of "both sides" here, and would just like to remind everyone that depicting fascist resistance as a bunch of violent criminals is ACTUAL fascist propaganda.

There is absolutely no moral equivalent between fascists and the resistance, because the latter is a direct result of the violence of the former.

If after these events you rush to condemn anti-fascist as "just as bad", pardon me if I question your motives.
It seems to me clear which group you'd have been in at Charlottesville.

We really need the wall already to keep those people out. I heard the guy was a descendant of illegal British immigrants.
