Forums - Sales - Wii Fit Pre-orders Sell Out on Play.com in One Day

Sullla said:
That's good news for Nintendo, but come on Fishy - you know that sales at online retailers aren't a very accurate gauge of overall numbers. (Baby seal pictures, anyone?)

I'm looking forward to hearing how Wii Fit "doesn't count" in the upcoming weeks and months when it sits in the charts for ages on end.

I'm just relaying the news as I found it. I'm not making any claims.

Wow.. great, and worrying to hear at the same time.. maybe i won't be able to just walk in and get it on May 8th... guess i gotta start looking for preorder deals

You know, there will be many fat and out of shape people who will get this and think it will be the next great fitness tool to help them lose 400lbs of blubber.   However they will tire of it within days/weeks and you can get a used one for a fraction of the cost on ebay/craigslist.  ;)

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

Yeah, that's Japan. Fat 400lb people all over. There is a flood of used systems there when people found out it didn't work. That's why it's been on the weekly top 5 list for over four months. Yeah, that's the ticket.

^ well played

I wish I have the money when it comes in may.

People still don't realise just HOW big WiiFit will be. You'll all find out in the coming months...

Apart from launch, I have *never* preordered a game in my entire life.

We are preordering WiiFit (my wifes orders) - or we will miss out. Stock will be even harder to get, than it is finding a Wii.

WiiFit will easily outsell GTA4 - for *either* of the 360/PS3 platforms - but not both combined. It has a shot at outselling them combined by the end of the generation though.

So can't wait to see what Ninty has up their sleeve next...

I thought you can find Wii's in australia because your average game console costs about as much as a car?

Well, I could buy a car for around the price of a PS3 - but it won't be a good one :)

From what I understand, getting a Wii here is about the same process as it is everywhere else - it relies heavily on luck.

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

It is time to resurrect that Wii Fit hit or miss thread. A lot of people will have servings of crow (myself included).

Looks like I might be right about my 180K launch in Others oh wait I don't know because they didn't give numbers maybe it only will do 179,999....arghhh

Fair enough, the car thing obviously a joke... though my friend actually did recently get a car for like 400 dollars.  But it was a car he bought from his brother because someone jumped bail.
