Forums - Gaming - PC2 Dev: X1X Iteration "Significant, Noticeable Improvement" Over Pro Version

I'm unsure what the exclusive content will be for Xbone One X as far as I understand it, it will just have prettier versions of the games I can buy for my xbox one. I suspect I will pass on it. If many others do the same and it has a small install base its quite possible few games are enhanced for the 'x' and in fact the pro might actually get better versions. It's not just about the performance of consoles its about how much resources developers give it. It just may not be commercially viable to spend too much time enhancing it for the X.

There's no such thing as a significant noticeable improvement in graphics anymore. If one platform truly had significant noticeable graphical improvements over another, there would be games that certain systems wouldn't be able to play for performance reasons. XB1, PS4, PS4 Pro, XB1X, and PC are all basically the same thing graphics wise. Yes there are graphical differences between systems, but there were differences in MKII versions back in the day too.

If talking most multiplatform games, I agree (save for titles like Battlefront or Forza 6). The exclusives still show each platform's real strengths, however.

That would be pretty hard for say PC as there is only one game out there that's exclusive and showing the strength of higher end hw. Everything else ends up seeing marginal gains from multiplat titles on higher end hw though.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

There they go again. Claiming you can go this high on pc and consoles are low end pc etc reality is most pc gamers have very modest setups the supposed high end are in an extreme small minority according to hardware stats

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

It makes sense. XBX should have the best looking multi-plat games. It would be a waste of money if it did not.

That being said, I doubt "noticeable" will be the same as "striking". Most people probably couldn't spot the differences unless they watch it side to side or back to back.

Either way, consoles will always be a step back from PC until they allow people to adjust the sliders and effects themselves. Personally, I like turning some things DOWN on PC because developers like giving me a headache.

I find settings like motion blur to be a slight annoyance (except for racing games alone and that's really about it), but I find settings like chromatic aberration to be some of the worst effects to put into your game. Any chance I get I'll turn it off as well as the bloom setting, depending on how intense and blinding it is.

Going by Steam survey alone isn't a good approach to finding out who owns what, especially when you have people like me who do own a high end setup and refuse to partake in any sort of hw survey, especially when it comes to Origin and ubisoift. most times I opt out for any sort of statistical survey of any kind when it comes to gaming and I'm not alone on that notion.

What game is that thoough? I remember when Crysis gave people a reason to build a good gaming PC. What's out now though?

Star Citizen, but I imagine it's going to be argued into the ground that it means nothing.

I remember when people just couldn't play Crysis at the time because even back then high end hw couldn't manage it properly.

" and you can’t have them physics fidelity being different between them"

Lmao hahaha

He explained that while the gameplay mechanics need to mirror each other on every platform
So we’d rather compromise on the visuals and keep that physics experience as accurate as possible

So that means PSVR version confirmed next to OR and Vive? Definite buy if so, definite no buy if not.

Highly unlikely. Even PS4Pro isn't powerful enough let alone the normal PS4 to allow that without Drivecluv VR like downgrades. That's the reason even 60fps GTS won't get full PSVR support.

pCARS developers have clearly stated they don't target 60 fps on consoles.
