Well, I mean, the console better have noticeable difference to justify a higher price tag. Personally, I often don't find the difference between, say, a mix of medium and high settings all that significant from a mix of high and very high these days. Aside from low settings, I think graphical options have grown less distinguishable over the years. Still, I expect the x to look better, as that is the entire point of the system, is it not?

 

Besides, it will only matter if consumers find the improvements to be significant. I'm sure many devs would term the improvements on pro games to be "significant," but a lot of people aren't impressed by the difference. We'll just have to see with the X.



Even if thats true..... GT & Forza say "hello".
At best, if they do a sloppy job with the PS4pro, it ll just be hurting their own sales.

It doesn't have to be a sloppy job on the Pro. The One X is simply a more powerful machine, so it makes sense that it would be the best version on the consoles. As it made sense for the original PS4 vs the Xbox One.

Exactly. Most multiplatform games are going to look best on the x, with a few probably turning up relatively even, like the sports games that already run at 4k on the pro. It all depends on whether consumers find that gap significant enough to pay more for it.

There might be a few extra bells and whistles on x1x, but people are in for a rude awakening if they think Multiplat devs are going to invest serious time or resources making it look like anything more than that.

From a logical perspective, the install base of x1x will be 0 at launch. If we look at how the og X1 is doing, its primary market will be in the US and about half of what Sony has. Theres just not really any incentive to go above and beyond here, and some of that performance advantage will be eaten by "true 4K" on x1x where the Pro can get away with Checkerboard at a fraction of the cost. Calling it now, the performance delta between the two will be nigh impossible to spot unless you pause multiplats side by side and begin zooming in on pixels. Don't be so quick to fall for the master of marketing spin (:

And? If anyone really cares about performance they'll be on PC, as has been the case for the past decade. This doesn't change that Pro/X will look essentially identical.

Many devs are already harnessing the extra power of the Pro compared to the XBO and regular PS4 versions. Why would it now be different for the XBX?



I'll probably get forza this year and project cars 2 next year. Forza seems to take better advantage of the zbox one X so I can't wait to see it for myself.
