Forums - General - My dog killed a neighbors cat! Not sure what to do

What I find funny in some people judgement and reasoning is that a dog or cat killing another pet is reason enough to kill it, a human being killing 20 people and we shall try to reintroduce the person in society. What is the logic in it? Threat the irrational as being rational even when the damage it causes is quite small and threat rational beings as incapable of restrain even when their tool on society is imense.

See that feeling of love you have for your dog? That's the same feeling cat owners usually have for their cats. In their eyes they see your dog as a murderer. And who's to say it won't kill more cats? Anyway I like dogs and cats so wouldn't like to see it put down just like I don't want humans in prison put down. But if it happens I can understand why and that just sucks.

poor cat :(

why the heck do the f***ing dogs like to kill cats

it entered your neighbor's area so it's you/your friend's fault, but whatever, shit happens, just a sequence of unlucky events

hopefully your dog is not put down, as it won't bring the cat back anyway and I believe you'll be more careful since know you are now aware of his intentions lol

if it was my cat, you'd still be looking for your dog btw :P

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Step 1, realize your dog is dangerous to smaller living things,

Accept that your dog will be put down for what he has done. Punch your friend in the face for leaving the gate open.

Its normal for dogs to attack cats. the worst thing that happens is a fine.. FIne goes to person who opened the gate.

I would suggest stop using the gate in the backyard unless u can want to rely on people closing it

Your dog should be put down, it's your responsibility to train the dog properly which you've failed to do. Husky's are one of the most dangerous dog breeds right up there with Pitbulls, they're not a social breed and need to be well trained.

If he attacked and killed a cat, don't kid your self and think he wouldn't attack a child, he would.

Lol @ putting the dog down. I don't know what the law is where you are but there's no way that would happen here.

If it's in a public space, cats are fair game. Even if your dog went on to his property, it would be little more than criminal damage.

You/your friend are idiots for not taking more precautions. Your dog could have been hit by a car or killed something cute like a squirrel. Cats should be on a leash outdoors if they want the same rights as dogs.
