If there is one genre that is niche of the niches, on home consoles, it is traditional RTS.

I am about talking games like Starcraft on N64, Supreme Commander on X360, etc.

I am actually not too knowledgeable on what traditional RTS actually came out on consoles because they are so so rare.

I realized the lack of a mouse input is why, but it is still interesting to me as a rare novelty.

So, please, if you know of more home console RTS share your wisdom, as well as which game is your favorite.

Probably Lord of the Rings 2, on 360 can't actually remember it's name. They weren't that rare back in ps1/64 days. On PC it's easily Company of heroes, still play it online 11 years later

Tethered, although I wouldn't exactly call it traditional as it's in VR and all. Head tracking to select units instead of a mouse. Pikmin 3 was great too, never finished it though. Touch screen controls helped.

The first Red Alert is the only one I've really played on consoles, so the choice is easy. I've also played the demo of KKnD2 (on the first PlayStation) so there's that, but it was just a demo and I think it didn't have any base-building, so it's really hard to judge it properly.

I haven't played many of them on consoles. I remember Command & Conquer games were awful to play with controller.

But I've spent around 90 hours playing Halo Wars 2 and I like it alot. It's easy to play with controller but there's a good number of different units and abilities for different tactics so I wouldn't say it's a dumbed down rts game. I especially like the casual Blitz multiplayer mode.
