Do you have the Splatoon 2 Pro controller?

Yep 37 27.82%

Nope 42 31.58%

I don't care 15 11.28%

I don't own a Switch 17 12.78%

I plan to get one later 22 16.54%

Total:133

I've always been cool with the Joycons, but in Splatoon 2 the Pro Controller makes a gigantic difference. Pretty worth it IMO.

How are you / am I  being ripped off? Battery life alone makes the price difference (~$10) worth it. I literally never have to play while plugged, never have to turn off LEDs, never have to turn off rumble or any other features.

Feature Xbox One PS4 Switch
Standard Buttons Yes Yes Yes
Built-in Battery No Yes Yes
Battery Life 0 3~8hrs ~40 hrs
Rumble Yes Yes Yes

HD Rumble
(yes, there is a difference,
but we'll see how that pans
out over the life of the console.)

No No Yes
Motion Controls / High Precision No No Yes
NFC Support No No Yes
Touch Pad (similar to HD Rumble,
will it matter in long-run)
No Yes No
MSRP $ $60 $60 $70

Yes, you can find the older console's controllers for as low as about $40 sometimes. But the fact is, the retail price is only $10 difference for a controller that above all has a massively better battery. The only person getting ripped off is Xbox One buyers, including myself x4.

You need to add a category called "Working Reliably", in which the DS4 gets a NO.  I've found it to be the worst first-party controller I've used.....possibly ever.  The short battery life, the all-too-common charging problems, and the frequent de-syncing that many users report are really not acceptable for 2017.  Maybe it could have been excused when wireless controllers were in their infancy.  But, that's over a decade behind us.

Never had any of that and own 3 of them for the past 2 years. I don't mean I replaced them I just own 3. Standard black. The 20th Anniversary and a Blue one that is the more recent models. Has a better battery life. Never not once had them desync. All of mine charge fast and fine. The worst 1st party controller ever by a long shot is the Atari 5200.

It does look pretty nice. Not enough for me to rush to get one, but if I saw one at a reasonable price, I'd def bite.

They have promised a year of free updates, I want to be able to buy clothes after that.
I want to dress my Squid/Kid in lots of clothes.

You can still play after a year and do all that.

I want new stuff after that point.
So, no.

WHy microtransactions when those are the absolute dumbest greediest thing to happen to gaming. Why not just want free updates past a year? besides in that year it will be tons of content to enjoy for years after that.

Because that is not reasonable, and I can not vote with my wallet.

I'm good with the normal switch pro controller. but that splatoon 2 pro controller looks good.
