Likely fake, but still, that'd be interesting if that happened.

If this is true than I would definitely get it when I get my Switch, still haven't played this games.
I dont think thats true, only because we have a new FE in 2018.I dont think that they would port Fates at that year, if that happens.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Even if this one is false, there still is a FE game coming next year with possibly the best visuals we've seen for the series.

Probably fake but would be a huge kick in the nuts if that was the 'mainline' Fire Emblem coming to Switch in 2018 that was hyped in the FE Direct for 2018 earlier this year.
Don't get me wrong I like Fates games and under different circumstances a remake with HD visuals and cinematics would be welcome, but given how they milked the branches of that game as individuals games/DLC having a definitive edition come to Switch would burn a good number of fans.
They probably could be able to get away with that for Awakening due to the time between that game's original release and people would love to see remakes of a number of older titles even another one of the first or third game with Marth despite the previous DS remakes if unlike the others it added more modern features along with visuals. But redoing Fates or even Shadows of Valentia would piss too many off that recently spent cash. FE fanbase isn't used to all the love but I doubt too many would like being asked to double dip on expensive campaigns anyway.
