Keeping an eye on the game for now.

Okay... Why is online-multiplayer a bad thing now?

I think because a lot of the time it means that we the players, give more life to the game than the game has life...if that makes sense. If Destiny came out in exactly the same state just minus the online component it would have been dead in a week. The devs bank on us playing with friends, forming teams, killing each other, to beef up the game more than they could have done. They skimp on the meat because all they have to do is create a shell and we fill it.

Which, in turn, makes people sceptacle with games like Anthem.

I personally have no problem with online only games because I have a solid crew to play those games with. Others may not and they're going to be the ones that get ripped off with a less than stellar game world.

My answer to the OP: it's very hard to take E3 first footage of a multiplat seriously nowadays, and Anthem sounds an awful lot like Destiny (which burned quite a few people).

It just reminds me more of Destiny, only more generic and featuring more set pieces of scenery. I'd expect it to be fully online based and running crap at launch, if not all the way on PC knowing EA. (I don't mind MP games, I just dislike EA trying to make all of their games online based in one way or another, let alone putting more focus into MP).

I'll pass EA, let me know when you're ready to go back to C&C and willing to actually bother with that crowd.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Going through the footage their is some pop in and stuff of that nature.
Reflections off visors seem baked in, and textures don't really hold up when looked at closely.
I believe that what we will get will be similar visually to what we have been shown.

It's going to look like that on PC.

It will likely look better.
Higher resolution, framerate and less pop in.
+some extra good stuff added by Ultra settings.

Because it's the AAA game industry. Overpromise under deliver people fall for the hype and buy this crap so who cares says big publisher. It's just a formula at this point.

As sad as that makes me I worry that a lot (not all) of publishers have that mind set. Screw innovation let's just churn out the same thing we have been for the past 10 years with a new coat of paint and call it a new game.

Oh, another sci fi futuristic shooter rpg game involving a bunch of names, planets, an cultures that none of us know and it just all sounds like a bunch of made up nonsense? Booooring. ME was their new series, and it ended up getting worse after 2, and now they want to make another new series. Then again, I shouldn't even care cause all Bioware does now days is make horrible mmos instead of a proper KOTOR sequel, focus on political agenda in their games, and design every freaking eye ball to look super creepy in their games; seriously, their characters literally creep me out in this game and especially Andromeda. Also, the character design of ME3 was disturbing and bland compared to 1 and 2.

This is the circle of things though. RARE died years ago and some thing took over its body. Same with Bioware.

This post genuinely made me shudder.  Demanding that writers throw away new ideas and worlds just so they can keep churning out more Star Wars or whatever is repulsive to me.

I'm sorry I made you shudder.

Indies takes more risks than the AA industry these days which is a shme, because you'd think with more money and talent you'd want to take more risks in creating brand new games, unique content and possibly even a new genre, but because they don't like taking big risks, they let the indie devs do it for them and tyhen follow up by emulating upon their sucess. Just look at F2P titles, we've got F2P MT's in our AAA games now and it'll only get worse with time.
