That would be awesome. I'd love to read it. Especially since I was saying this earlier in the thread.

Well it seems Paramount is going to do Blu-ray headstarts, although not a big named title still a sign. it would be nice if they did Transformers 2 or Star Trek like this.

Irony... lol
"Disney was the first studio to try releasing BD versions ahead of DVD, with 'Bolt' and 'Bedtime Stories', but in both cases the release interval was under a week and many retailers broke the DVD street date, so the impact of the initiative was very limited. Now Disney is going a step further in the fall, and is releasing 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' on Blu-ray on Oct. 6, seven weeks before the new standard-def DVD version hits on Nov. 24."
One week isn't long enough. I'd say 3 - 4 weeks at minimum. Snow White is a bad movie to try it with...

Exactly, its nice that Disney is doing this but it would be better if it was a title that would make a big impact with the high def people.
Your comment on Paramount is dead on as well, although because Bay is a huge Blu-ray fan we may see them release Transformers 2 early, but I dont know if that is his call.
Bay is pissed off a Paramount right now. He told them he wanted to take a year off of Robots but they told him no and started production of the 3rd movie already.
Numbers for week ending 08/30/09
Pretty poor showing all around this week with Blu-ray only pulling in a 7:92 ratio. Blu-ray sales are up but only up 49.9%. DVD and total revenue were down. DVD down 20% while total revenue is down 17.3%

And with the movies that released this week last week you can expect another couple mediorce weeks from Blu-ray, although there are a few deals going on at Amazon right now and that may help Blu-ray.
Staggered release dates? What an anti-customer approach. Essentially trying to wrangle people into adopting the companies preferred format.
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

They did the same thing with DVDs when they first released against VHS. I wonder how that turned out?

Everyone does it. Not just the BRA.
