Japan is much farther ahead in the Blu-ray vs DVD market. Its like 70/30 there. The EU its like 85/15. It is only America that is going to take forever due to the poor state of our economy.

 

 No Way in hell. At least talking about Germany it is like 2.7 %. It won't be different in France, Netherlands, Austria, Denmark. Not talking about eastern Europe. There are just a handful of broadcasting stations offering HD material. So your Europe-numbers are not true. I don't even care if u got a link or something with an analyst speaking, I know better because I see it every day.

Here in Japan, BD-R discs are absolutely cheap compared to the rest of the world. About $5/disc now. My laptop has a BD-R drive that I haven't used yet. I think it may be about time to put it in use.

September is a hot month for blu-ray releases. Kill Bill (Vol. 1 & 2), the Hulk, pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy (all-in-one), speed racer and of course (at last) Transformers! Happy times for blu-ray (and Sony).
