So my plan was to pick up a GameCube adapter and controllers for the switch for split screen games, but I just realised it'd be missing a button... ZL...

Does anyone have experience using them? What multiplayer games can they not be used with? It wouldn't be an issue if you could remap buttons but I don't think you can.

I use GC controllers sometimes. Honestly, it is not recommended unless since a lot of Switch games make using it a little awkward. It is good for simple games like bomberman, puyo puyo tetris and maybe Rocket League. Honestly, you can use it with any game as long as you don't have to use ZL.

Anyway OT:
Why in the world is summer so packed? I would have liked it if those games were spread out over the year. Not jam-packed into three months. Not I have to pick and choose which games to buy and not buy.  I know this sounds like a first world problem but still. I want to play and finish these games before Smash comes out in September.  I can't do that if the games come all at the same time and only 3 months before that.

Oh well, I guess i'll get wired pro controllers instead, they're £20 a piece so it's not too bad. Thanks.

BotW's sales longevity is getting really damn impressive. Sold almost as much as SMO on the latest VG update week, despite being a half a year older and despite Zelda never having had anywhere near the sales appeal as Mario platformers. Mario + Rabbids is also doing way better than I would have thought too. Will easily eclipse TV Party for best seller in the Rabbids franchise. A sequel is a given, and releasing on a much larger install base it might be able to approach the 4-5m lifetime range if it goes over as well as this one.

More Mario Tennis Aces characters seemed to have been leaked. I'm really starting to like the roster, especially since it seems like it'll continue to grow after launch.

It's weird that i'm more hyped about aces than I am for Smash...

I really hope they don't shake things up too much. We don't need another overly cinematic story/character driven game with broader appealing gameplay mechanics. Good hack and slash gameplay is a dying breed these days, and Bayo is one of the few franchises that still does it amazingly and is an absolute blast to play because of it. Hope they don't change that.

I don't think you have to worry about it shifting out of the spectacle fighter/character action genre.  I think they're mainly acknowledging that Bayonetta 2 was largely just Bayonetta 1 done better and want to go more ambitious than that.
