This is actually pretty cool! A Gamecube controller working on stuff that isn't Smash? In a console made by Nintendo?! Must be dark magic or something.

Edit: also congrats on 25k Curl. I'm here still waiting on that elusive 10k.

It only worked with Smash on the WiiU though right?

The fact that Switch allows it for any game is pretty big.

You can use GC controllers on the Switch now? I have died and gone to heaven.

Wait it's for real?

:O

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Well, it makes sense, SSB Deluxe for Switch is a no brainer, may as well support your existing peripheral for it if it's a simple USB anyway.

Yeah, I found them on their twitter.  Looks nice and definitely shows that the grassland Titan will have some unusual sights to see :)

Also, Nintendo released another new blade design:

Am I the only one simultaneously impressed and perplexed by the number of well known artists Nintendo has pulled in on this project for various tasks? It's pretty crazy.

Also, like this design, it really does feel unique.

As much as I'm trying to avoid any all of this news, hearing it is nice to hear. I was worried in teh beginning that beyond each characters 'main' blade, the rest would be like generic robot looking ones.

Hopefully these blades have character and personallity and aren't just 'skins' essentially. My guess is they do have a big side quest for each that is sort of 'hidden' that only one who goes out of his way will find. Looking at Chronicles and X, they both had so much story and world building that was only found doing side quests and you would completely miss if you did just main story.

I could see the custom blades having quests.  Or at the least, heart-to-hearts.  And from what I have seen, each blade at least has a surface personality.
