Exactly.

that or red steel is acutally a good game and only threatened fanboys don't like it

Red Steel is actually a pretty flawed game ... If you can overlook the flaws it is a lot of fun though

When playing the game I had the feeling that the game was rushed (to get it out for launch), Ubisoft threw resources at it to get it completed on time, and as a result the game lacked polish. If the game had 6 more months of development I think the game would have been far better recieved, and would have been considered one of the better shooters of 2006.

Perfect Dark for 360 probably wouldn't have been a million seller outside of launch conditions either. There's always a bit of a vacuum for certain types of games at launch which allows some titles to step in and sell well when they otherwise might not. Forza 1 just barely shipped 1 million units, but Forza 2 should build on that. Its not going to be a Gran Turismo killer, but its going to sell much better, I think.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

The Wii has good titles for each genre, problem is that it only has about 2-3 for each genre. That's still a heck of a lot of games though. I am waiting for Mario Party 8 to come out.

im going to go crazy and say that super mario galaxy will sell 1m in the first month

Yup, we are, no thanks to every last retarded 3rd part, who split all their eggs between two baskets and put none in the third. Well, they get what they deserve when they all lose money. Then they'll come crawling, and we won't be ignored anymore.

As for Red Steel, it seems clear to me that the issues with the game were addressable, and that during the bits that worked, I personally really enjoyed it. This raises my hopes for Red Steel 2.

Actually what happened with Red Steel is it was HEAVILY hyped, it was a -decent- game but it was only that. People were expecting Starwars and got a cheesy Sci-fi channel original movie. All in all I kinda liked it but it was hyped to a degree where I was expecting pure gold as were many, what ended up happening was a lot of people bought it with the Wii before any word on how crappy it was got out.

Also just to play devils advocate I could say the same about Motostorm 8 what was it 8 tracks?

Clearly you're mestaken about Rayman and Red Steel. Third Parties don't sell on Nintendo systems.

/sarcasm

IMO, I doubt Red Steel or Rayman will get to the club very quickly. Both games bombed in Japan, and European numbers would have to mirror US numbers to obtain the 1m mark. SPM? Im sure it's already shipped 1m, and might end up with 2m w/w. Forza 2 has probably already shipped 1m. It's hopefully gonna be huge. F1 was actually out-sold in Europe vs. US, and I hope for the love of the game, that the US version sells atleast 1m copies (with no real US competition, it should).

Actually from what I've heard, Rayman and Red Steel actually sold better in Europe than NA, especially Rayman since that's always been primarily a European IP.  Don't forget Ubisoft is a European dev.

Red Steel did feel rushed, but it also felt like nothing I had ever palyed before. First try at FPS + Sword Fighting. Very good first effort. Also, because of all the hype, I too was expecting an Amazing game overall. It was good, though repetitive. Red Steel 2 should be much better.
