Hardcore gamers will buy the X

Premium buyers will buy the X

Casual gamers will buy the S

Buyers on a budget will buy the S.

I disagree, if you're not big into games there's no reason to get an X over the S, and for twice the price at that. If you're not a hardcore gamer it would be silly to buy the X.

Isn't that a great number? Based on vgchartz Xbox One is currently at 29 millions. And they forcast the xbox one family to be at 63 millions. Meaning they will have sold 34 millions Xbox one in the next 4 years where 50% of them are Xbox One X???

I think that I will become a market analyst. It's not hard, basic common sense would already put me among the best.

Really, those guys are always bragging about predictions that are completely out of touch with reality. I'm not saying that the X1X will sell badly, but if you're forecasting that it will somehow match the base unit costing more than double the price, that's beyond insane.

Considering its also a 4k media player its possible. Alot forget you dont need to be a gamer or into games for the X1X to have appeal. Its still a 4K blu ray player and TV box.

If someone isn't a gamer, there is zero reason to get a X1X instead of an X1S. If you just want to play 4K blurays, that extra teraflops won't help at all. You're basically supossing that premium consumers that don't want to game on the console at all will buy  the more expensive version even without any advantage, just because it is more expensive.

You're also heavily overestimating the impact of 4K BR in an era when digital media and streaming basically killed it with fire. BR sales are constantly down. 4K could be a niche since streaming or downloading it demands quite a better connection, but they are always increasing anyway and in a faster pace than 4K TV adoption.

Its hard to say. What if your a mum or dad that have kids that play games but the parents watch movies? Theres alot of different markets that can see the X as better value especially if money isnt an option.

Correct me if i am wrong, doesnt the X1X stream 4k and have more 4k optione and features than the S?

Kids aren't really the market for 4K. The focus is the enthusiasts. There's really zero market for the X1X among people who don't intend to game in 4K, because if you take the 4K gaming option out of the equation the X1S does the same stuff by 40% of the price. That's why it's nonsense of DFC to predict it selling 50% of the total X1 units from now on.

Both the X1S and X1X have the same 4K streaming and BR features, with HDR support. So, for films and TV, they are identical. In comparison, PS4 Slim/OG don't have 4K content (both have HDR support). PS4 Pro supports 4K streaming but no 4K BR. So, if the intent is playing 4K BR, the 2 X1 are the options, with the X1S being cheaper. If the intention is to stream/buy digital 4K content, the 2 X1 and the PS4 Pro are the options.

Anyway, I don't think anyone will buy a console to stream 4K content when smart TVs or cheaper media centers already do it. People will buy the consoles to play games and then use them for some media comsumption since they sell and rent digital copies through their stores. Nobody will buy consoles just for streaming since we aren't in 2009 anymore, where a PS360 was the best option to watch Netflix, any TV does it now.

If you want 4K BR but has no interest in gaming, then the X1S is the best option. I'm not saying it's a big market, but for that consumers it is the best C/B.
