Forums - Gaming - Sony: MS "punched themselves out of the fight"

"Is he only talking about MS or about Nintendo as well. "

Would make sense. Nintendo really releases all of its big franchises in the first 15months. I mean they had to and it definitely was a success. But if people hail Kid Icarus as a big Nintendo title the situation is dire .

I approve of your posting spree. I feel it is an innovative concept. We need such bursts from time to time to reinvigorate the forums. Hopefully it will direct the forums into a more constructive direction.

Why thank you.  Most if not all that I post is reposted on joystiq, katoku etc so we are just getting a head start on the discussion is all.  I try to make sure is all game related and current though I may double post sometimes which is fine as the worst that can happen is that it becomes locked.   Again thanks

The way PS3 games have been delayed lately and the time period coming up between now and some of Sony's still coming releases, I can't possibly see how anyone punched their way out of the fight.  Hell, looking at some of the rumors it is likely that Forza 3 will come out in the same year as GT5.

Wow those words would have had more punch to them if he had he not used the words "may have". But I guess this is coming from Sony's VP of marketing so it must be true.

We should believe their claims though because like their claim of not paying for exclusives, it has to be true. I mean doesn't it make sense to you that a FPS like Haze had it's PC and 360 versions cut late in development and the PS3 version kept? Especially at a time when the PS3 was getting hammered in sales by the 360? I mean if it was your money on the line and Sony wasn't paying for the exclusive in some way wouldn't you agree to such a decision?

Until the hard facts are publicly available, I guess we can assume Free Radical likes the PS3. All that matters is that, as a PS3 owner, it feels good to have an exclusive available for my purchase. Doesn't mean I'll play it, though. That would only add salt to my friends' wounds who have 360s and want to play it. :P

No need for facts when its simple common sense. Ubisoft is the publisher of Haze. When is the last time Ubisoft has published an exclusive without an incentive? Assassin's Creed wasn't an exclusive because Sony wouldn't pay Ubisoft. Why would Ubisoft have a sudden change of heart, when the PS3 was being soundly beaten by the 360 during the announcement. Have you looked at the sales numbers for Ubisoft titles on 360? Legend is dead on with his post.

The same could be said about UT3, but still, we don't have any money under the table being confirmed yet. Maybe Sony didn't pay. They probably cut down the fees that needed to be payed for the game to come out on PS3. Maybe some guy on Sony is marrying someone from Ubisoft. We don't know.

PS3 Trophies

I agree, XBox was prematurely discontinued and all XBox exclusives were released early to push a maximum amount of XBox fans towards the platform within an as short as possible timespan. The 360 did not receive enough testing and planning, everything looks like a rush job regarding the 360.

I foresee troubled times for the 360, the PS3 indeed proving to be much more powerful, the PS3 proving to have a better longterm games line-up, Blu-Ray indeed pushing HD DVD out of the market. Microsoft's FUD and Hype will probably backfire, fans will feel themselves fooled for spreading the gospel. I know one fanboy (a game reviewer!) who publicly called me names because I stated RRoD problems were widespread and he repeated and furiously defended the Microsoft Gospel that hardware issues are within industry standards and only his and others launch units were flawed (eventually he couldn't handle it for being wrong, asked his account to be deleted, will others feel similarly?).

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Wow, shocking. Sony's marketing department has shown themselves to be a giant collection of talking douchebags again.

Absolutely shocking.

Proving to be much more powerful?  You mean with the multiplatform games with the majority giving the 360 the edge?  If the PS3 was really a lot more powerful it would show even if games aren't developed for it first.

Read the following article comparing 360 and PS3 games (10th in a series) to see just how things haven't changed.

Blah blah blah *Blu-ray* blah blah blah *OMG Teh C3ll* blah blah blah.

Did you read the article? It's pretty obvious the guy is talking about Nintendo, too. Which means that, on top of being a giant douche, he's also a fucking retard.
